April 2013

April 2013

Postby lollypopbride » Thu Apr 26, 2022 8:57 am

Greetings to all of next year’s April brides!

I have been watching the April 2012 thread with excitement and now that the last of them are about to be married this weekend I realised that the next batch of April brides will be us in 2013!! So I figured maybe it was time for our own thread to chat about the run down to April 2013!

Most of us will have less than a year on our tickers by now or will have by Monday anyway! How exciting!

What have you got done?

We have our venue, church, church singer/musician, videographer, cars, band/dj confirmed. I have picked my dress and shoes.

Next on the list is photographer, we’ve met about 5 at this stage and really struggling to decide!

Also, I’m DIY’ing our stationary so working on that bit by bit – this may sound very organised but I know from experience that arts and crafts always take longer than expected so just want to have these well out of the way but at a relaxed pace!

We’ve been picking up little bits and pieces (when we spot bargains) for adding decoration to our venue too, the spare room is starting to look like wedding central!

When do you plan on registering intent to marry, or doing pre-marriage course (if you’re having a church ceremony). Not worried about these yet but would like to know what your plans are!

So, who else is out there? I know there’s a few from the train on the 2013 brides thread, would you like to join in here?

Speaking of wedding trains, I’ll start one now and then in about 10 or 11 months time we will be able to see who’s about to go to the dark side and when!!

Hi everyone! :wv

Thanks for joining me, great to see a few us on this already! I've been dying for us to have our own thread! :o0

Some great progress going on there, I thought I was organised but not half as much as some of ye! Still, I still feel I have lots of time! Thing is, we booked our venue last July so I've been telling myself for ages that I've lots of time...bound to run out eventually! :hyper:

Mrsduffy you're doing own cake? I've toyed with that idea, but am worried it will be very stressful in the week running up. Are you doing fruit cake that you can prepare in decent advance or other types that can only really be done in the week before? I really don't want to pay for something I would love to do myself but am worried its too much to take on! Would love to hear your thoughts or your plan to make it as easy as possible!

Lucky you jessiejane still dress shopping - i miss trying on all the beautiful dresses! :o0

Hi Lollypopbride,

Im going to make the fruit cake now in the next month or sooo, then the chocolate biscuit cake receipe that i have been making this last while (thats made me put on a stone :-8 ) last 2 & 1/2 weeks if kept refrigerated... and then the maderia i can make and ice the day b4!!!! :) every1 keeps saying im mad doin this but i love :lvs cooking and baking and Baking really relax's me so i think the baking the day b4 will sort my nerves out, ive made a few cakes now and iced them quite well... making cakes for every1's bdays, made a lovely one at easter, plain but nice - this is my Easter Madeira, its not perfect but hoping that the more i make the better i get at the icing... :-8

Hiya Mrsduffy2be! Oh I don’t think you are mad – you have a plan there that sounds reasonable, I think if I had to do all the baking and icing in the run up I’d be stressed but the more you can get done in advance would help hugely! That’s why I was wondering what your plan was!

That’s a great help that the biscuit cake keeps that long, if I pm’d you my email address could you send me the recipe? :thnk

Great job on the easter cake, so cute! Fair play! What type of cake was that?

The more I talk about it, the more I want to do my own too! :o0

Hi ladies!
Just spotted this thread and decided I better add myself to it!

April 2013 Wedding Train!

April 1st lollypopbride
April 1st Jmaura C
April 5th Boppers
April 5th Govosgal
April 15th clairet1981
April 13th Jessiejane
April 27th MrsDuffy2b

Same date as lollypopbride!!
I'm starting to get so excited about our big day but so far have very little done! You are all freaking me out a little with your superior organisational skills!! ;)
We've the church, priest, hotel, band, DJ, Photographer, hairdresser but that's it! I've found my dream dress and am considering having it made... I've also done LOADS of online browsing for colours, flowers, make-up, decorations, etc etc...
My self and the OH are both teachers though so we figured we can use the summer holidays to get through a huge chunk of stuff!
Can't wait to get stuck it! Here's to the next 11 months girls! :wv

Hi all,

We thought we were organised but depressed now reading this thread. We've the venue, church and band booked. Still lots to do but we'll get there. I've no intention of getting stressed about any of it. We're both laid back enough so plenty of time. Can't believe only a year away.

We're getting married in inchydoney island lodge in west cork but we live 3 hours away so I'm sure that will add extra complications

Anyone doing anything unique? Still looking for ideas's

Am very impressed and slightly in awe of all the organisation - well done girls! Feeling slightly less panicked today as we finally picked our band last night so that's one less thing anyway!!

Hi all!

Bought my BM dress today! Only having one BM and spotted a dress yesterday in the perfect colour so went to look today and it was fab on her! Who hoo! O-O

Rusty don't be depressed, still lots of time to go yet! If I have one more supplier say 'what are you doing here, you've bags of time' I'll hit them! I get the impression us slightly more organised brides are in the minority so don't be panicking! Its just down to personality,I just want to do it bit by bit with lots of time to go!

JMaura C - Hi wedding twin!! There was another Wollie over on the 2013 brides thread with our date too, I love our date! Next Easter is going to be the best one ever!! :lvs
