If your husband to be is planning on lighting a candle for his mum discretly at the start of the mass then maybe mentioning her name in the prayers of the faithful may be just too upsetting for him and his family. It is so important that she is remembered but you don't want to be upsetting him it may take away from the fact that this is a happy and special day for you both and his mother would want him to be happy and celebrate!!! She will defiantly be in all their thoughts on the day anyway and the lighting of a special candle for her sounds to me like a lovely thing to do at the mass. I say he may mention her in his speech or if his father is speaking later that may be the time to talk about her.
This is one of the prayer of the faithful i used at my wedding, alot of family friends and relatives are deceased and this was a way to mention them without upsetting people ( that sounds a bit awful but don't mean it in a bad way)

We pray for family and friends who are no longer with us, may they remain forever in all our hearts and bless us on this special day and throughout the rest of our lives.

I hope this helps and best of luck with the mass booklet its a bit of a pain i printed mine and gave up printing after 77 of them couldn't look at the printer any longer O:|

Let us pray for all the faithful departed and especially brides dad , name. That God will one day unite us in the joy of our eternal home.
Lord, hear us.
#hopes this helps this what i used and it was for my dad .
get a picture of his mum on a candle, and light that JENNY CANDLES from sligo would be able to do that, call padraig his very good


i also did a poem to my dad

he should have the perfect view.

Let me feel his presence;

My wedding day wishes for my mum



If the sun is high and bright on my wedding day

Mother I hope you're happy for me, that I fill your heart with pride.

I'd like the day to start warm and bright, 'til my love and I are wed,
Then the tiniest of heaven's tears to fall upon the wedding party's heads,
Then for the sun to return again as the photographs are took
And I'd know for sure you'd be watching me, and to heaven I would look.
