Old and blue were my engagement ring-it's a sapphire and as I had it for seven months by the time the wedding came around I decided it was old! I borrowed some pearl hairpins for my upstyle from a friend, and another friend used them after me as her something borrowed, which the original bride is delighted about and can't wait for some other bride to wear them! If I was stuck for blue I'd probably have pinned a small blue ribbon into my dress.

Old: my engagement ring
Borrowed: a pearl necklace
Blue: a holy medal pinned into the inside of my dress.

Best of luck x

hi,

old and borrowed can usually be one in the same, so at least that helps! :)

If you had an old piece of jewellery belong to a family member, that might do. When we were going to do a church ceremony i was going to borrow a friends veil which was well suited to my dress.

As regards blue, you could get some blue underwear, or a blue sole to your shoes, i rem louboutin used to have blue soles but there was a copyright issue, as i think there is another company that sells wedding shoes with blue soles, another idea is to have perhaps a blue stone in some jewellery that you are choosing to wear.

have fun!! :)

Hi lolly, I thought the old, new, borrowed and blue had to be actually on the bride, as in part of the attire. Maybe I'm wrong?

yeah as far as I know they all have to be 'on' the bride, I had mine sorted until I heard that too :weep For the something blue you could stitch the date of your wedding on the lining of your dress in blue thread, if its old thread it covers old and blue :yelrotflmaosmilie:

New - Rings/dress etc
old - parents silver wedding coins
borrowed/blue - Grans old lace hankie she and my mother both used

I love the traditions, I was reading somewhere about bridesmaids being used to dress similar to the bride, so nobody would "steal" the real bride and it would confuse the thief, and also to ward off evil and nasty sprirts......I think they still do that in the form of family on the run up to the weddig :o0 :o0 Sorry bit of a rant there :-8
