Corkage Lough Rynn

Hi girls

We are getting married in Lough Rynn this summer and we are trying to negotiate on the corkage charge. At the minute we are being quoted €12 per bottle. I was hoping to get this down to at least €7/€8 but i'm just wondering if any other brides who are getting married there got anything better than €12??

hiya

weve been quoted a fiver per bottle for corkage fees at the mulranny park hotel seems fair to us, why would other places demand a higher corkage fee? surely half that is enough? at six?

We also got quoted €12 and haven't been able to get this reduced. I found them more flexible on other items though.Best of luck with you negotiations!

Hi guys,

I'm quite new to all of this. We are currently looking into having our wedding in Lough Rynn in December. We are in negotiations with the hotel but it seems they are reluctant to budge on much more (price-wise). Could you give me any suggestions as to what kind of things we could be doing to reduce the cost of our wedding? Once we book the date and sign the contract, is it a given that no more negotiations can take place? I have emailed a number of priests in the area but have heard nothing back so far. Would any kind person have suggestions as to how best to approach clergy in the Lough Rynn area? (We arent locals)?

Apologies for all of the questions.....I'd just like to approach things right from the get-go.

Kenobride - I am a lough rynn bride, and the BEST I could get them down to was 11euro on corkage - we are having a big wedding and maybe that is why. But that was after tough (!) negotiation, so I don't think you'll get it reduced beyond that. In the end, we went for the house wine at 18euro, as we felt going for the corkage option wasn't worth the hassle.

Hi Kenobride,

Firstly we went around the local churches and then made a decision as to which church we would like to get married in. Once we decided this we phoned the priest to check for availability and they were back to us fairly quickly. My local priest is going to do the ceremony which made it a bit easier as we just had to check availability.
As far as I can remember some priest will marry you if you are from outside the parish and others prefer if you have your own priest for the mass.

soooo exciting! Getting married in Lough Rynn next Apri! Very difficult to move them on corkage!
