Presents for parents
Hi all,
I really wanted to get something special for my parents as a thank you. I know a lot of people get the flowers for the mothers, but we don't really want to do this. Anyone, get anything other than flowers? [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

I got my mum a horseshoe for her charm bracelet - does your mum have a charm bracelet? Or a nice necklace with a horseshoe on it, there was a lovely one we were going to get mum, but we bought her a charm bracelet for christmas, so got her a charm instead of the necklace.
For my dad I - warning slightly CRINGE - wrote a poem for my dad and made it into a bookmark, laminated it and all. He loved it, and it caused tears on the morning. Does your dad read a lot? Not really fussed on flowers for parents, ours wouldn't be into that. Hope that helps http://weebitsarcastic.blogspot.com/ - Mrs Bloggy

I was the same - didn't want to do the whole flower thing and would rather give something that would last and they could keep so we got our two Mum's pearl earrings and necklaces and got our Dad's engraved brandy glasses. They just arrived today and look great. Can't wait to give them now on the day!

Lovely.
Wish my parents were easier to buy for! [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

I'm stuck for ideas for mine too, but was thinking of the idea of a 'living gift' a fruit tree of some kind with an engraved copper plate, they both love the garden and thought it would be a nice reminder each year the tree fruits. Will probably get them a weekend away too so they can relax after the wedding.

Re: Presents for parents
Dunno what to do!
Mums are getting a bouqet and MAYBE something else small Dads - haven't fully decided but perhaps a pocketwatch or hipflask or personalised penknife or bottle of whiskey Re: Presents for parents
We gave the Dad's watches the same as the best men and groomsmen and then we gave the mammies a mother of the bride/groom photo frame with one of our engagement photos in it.
Re: Presents for parents
My Oh's mother has passed away sadly so we are not doing bouquets. Think we will just give a simple wrapped gift instead.
Considering going to the Jameson distillery in Midleton to get a personalised whiskey bottle for the fathers. Not sure what to get my mam yet. Nothing would be enough, she's been so brilliant. ![]() [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

We got the parents mostly the same as the bridal parties trinkets but gonna add a personalised bottle of whiskey for the dads, a nice photo frame for the mums and I like the idea of a tree or sonething for the garden that they can remember the day by.
Re: Presents for parents
Some good suggestions there girls.
My dad is not a drinker so wouldn't get any sort of things associated with that. Possibly weekend away is the way to go. [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

were giving both mothers a willow piece each mother and son and mother and daughter, maybe something else if there good!!And behave themselves between now and then
Re: Presents for parents
No idea what to get the dads either. Both are not drinkers and not into any type of trinkets. Really hard...
We're getting those for the mams http://www.newbridgesilverware.com/present/FRAMES/J0152PF/VintageTripleFrame but maybe we'll just say they're for both because they'll be able to put a wedding photo into them. Re: Presents for parents
We didn't do flowers either as wedding was abroad. After wedding we got both family photos framed and gave them to each side and then we brought my parents and his mum (his dad has passed away) out for dinner and few drinks. I also made an album of our professional photos for both mums.
