€350 for wedding make up????

Hi Ladies,

I'm in the process of getting quotes for make up for our big day :xox

!
However, im so surprised at how much people are charging. I have gotten 2 quotes for €350. In both cases this includes travel expenses, my makeup, 2 x BM and my mum. Is this really what people are paying cos that just seems like an awful lot to me :ooh

Who I have booked is €250 for 4 and then €40 per person after that. The trial is also €40.
You cam definitely get cheaper though, i got a price of €160 for 4 with free trial but I had already the other girl booked. Your local beautician may also be a lot cheaper

I think it is a little expensive alright.
I'm paying E250 for Me, 3 Bm's and my Mum. Thats includes her coming to my house and a trial for me.
I've had my trial and I'm dleighted with it. We also all get the choice have having individual lashes aswell included. I loved them as they look so natural but made a huge difference too.

Mine is 350 for 7 makeups. Me, 4 bm's, my mam and my trial. She is coming to the house.

Thats a lil expensive mine is 200euro for 3 bm, myself, mother and trial! Try shop around or haggle! :wv

I am getting married in West Cork and my trial was €20.00, the make up for 6 of us on the day is €20pp and she is charging €50 for travel but thats more because she has to shut her salon for the morning - so thats €190.00 all in and I was so pleased with the result of the trial.

I am paying €280 for myself, 2 BM and the 2 mums & she is coming to the house. FMIL has no daughters so i said i would treat her to hair & make up in mine as to include her

So scared about booking a make up artist girlies!!! I've heard some horror stories from friends! Even was told by one of my best friends recently that when she done bridesmaid for her sister last year, she went in & washed all the make-up off straight after the girl done it!!! She just re-applied her own makeup the way she likes it on a night out and apparently noone was any the wiser.. I'd be raging paying money only for something like that to happen :-8

Although, I suppose her sis prob still doesn't know :o0

But still!!!

Seriously considering just not having a make-up artist there on the day.. not to mention budget :innocent:

I'm paying 270 for mine incl, a trial for me. Make up on the day for me and my 2 BM's.
I'm paying a little more now because I wanted to get another trial as I wasn't too sure about the first look but now I'm chuffed and glad I had another trial.

At the end of the day I think it depends on you and how you get along with the MUA too. I went to have a chat with MUA and hair stylist before booking them because I wanted to see how we get along. Had a look at their portfolio and also researched the net about reviews. If you're happy with the MUA and she charges more than others, I personally wouldn't worry about it because you'll be happy with the result on the day.

I suppose it also depends where in the country you are. Dublin would probably be a bit more expensive.

Im paying 230 for me, my trial, my mum and 3 bm. Plus shes coming out to the house. 350 seems very expensive, esp when you think you have to pay for hair to be done after that! ;o(

no way dont pay that.
I paid 100 for me my mum and 2 bm, I paid 25 for trial. local girls.
I live in west roscommon. no sure what part of mayo are you from. pm if that helps.
oh and my girl came to the house. ...
#remember you will be getting other stuff done. like leg wax, eyebrows etc and that will cost you as well. If you are using your own nails. there is a bottle of Sally Hanson yellow bottle of nail varish. its about 12 euros. it brilliant. sorry im spelling that wrong

i even got a quote from a make up artist for 200 for her to travel from sligo to me.

Thanks for all your feedback

After reading all your comments that confirmed for me that 350yoyo was way over the odds. So i did a little more homework on local beauticians etc and have now booked a girl who is charging 50 euro to travel to my house and 25 per head after that. She has a very good reputation and as far as i know this includes a free trial :hyper:
