Average prices for Wedding things!

Average prices for Wedding things!

Postby glitterlamp » Thu May 10, 2022 10:31 am

Hi, this is my first post, so I hope you all can help me :) I'm getting married next year, but am looking at budgeting with my partner, and we have got a price for a band. I'm not sure if it is a good price or not, so really value opinions as I don't want to get ripped off.

The band will be €2,000 including the DJ afterward too. Does that sound like good value?

Welcome glitterlamp!
We paid 2000 for our band and DJ. I think you might see cheaper and also more expensive. Most people will say the food and the band are the most important things and our band had the crowd on the floor for the night so we think its worth it!
Good luck with the planning!

I would say that €2000.00 would be about average for band and DJ.

Thanks alot! I'm in County Cork, the manager guy is a friend of the family, he said he was getting us a good rate because of that. I'm unsure. But yes, I do want everyone dancing for the night, so 2000 is pretty good I guess... honestly had thought about 5000 :ooh

Hey ours is €1,900. I will also depend on time of year etc...if it's mates rates then I would have thought a bit cheaper but if they're good and you're happy then sure that's all that matters!

I'm also looking at photographers, and we don't mind spending the money on this for the memories etc. Again, in the North Cork area, what is the average prices, and does anyone have suggestions for this area of photographers?

Glitterlamp, I'm getting married in Cork. I priced a lot of bands. As we live in England, when the 2k quotes started rolling in, I was in shock. In England bands for weddings are about £400- £1000, average being about £500 or £600 with £1000 being pretty expensive. But I checked a lot of quotes and finally went with one that is coming in at just over 2k for the band and dj. We didn't want to scrimp on the entertainment and that seemed the going rate in Cork! I'll pm you about photographers!

+1 I WOULD OF THOUGHT MAYBE SLIGHTLY CHEAPER WITH MATES RATES.. BUT AS LONG AS THEY ARE GOOD AND THEY KEEP THE FLOOR FILLED THEN ITS A BARGAIN

PM's would be great about the photographers thanks! :) I think the band/dj I'm getting generally cost about 3000 euro, so apparently they are giving me a great deal. Maybe it's bad, but I just want the entertainment out of the way now so I don't have to be freaking out over in at the end of the year.

Oh and also, Glitterlamp, as mentioned I got A LOT of quotes for Cork / Munster bands. If you're curious, you could pm the name of your band to me and chances are I might have had a quote from them... so will maybe have their non-mates rates quote... just to kill any curiousity! >:o)

Glitterlamp if you're in Cork and you're prepared to pay a bit for the photographer you should check out Roger Overall- I fell in love with his photos but he was just too far beyond my budget.
