Photographs of wedding on Facebook-how to avoid??
Just wondering what I can do to avoid this?Usually I dont mind photos of me on facebook or being tagged but I dont want any of our wedding day.I know someone who recently got the best man to announce it at his speech and no photos went up.Just we have loads of young people coming and I think the meal would be too late!Im sorry I didnt mention it in the invites and now am thinking of putting it in the mass booklets, what do ye think? Will people see it in these?I dont mind others putting up pics of themselves just not of us.

Re: Photographs of wedding on Facebook-how to avoid??
Bales I'm in the same dilema myself.Neither myself, himself or our parents are on FB.I'm a very private person and as bit self concious about being a bit of an older/plain jane bride. The thought of my pictures being public fodder kill me but theres damn all I can do about it.It would really puddle guests off I think to be told no uploading at the speech? Perhaps a symbol like the facebook sign with an X through it on the back page of the booklet?I've seen people I know pour over and disect the pictures of a wedding, her dress/BM dress/figures/parents outfits/house that morning etc.My brother got married last year and his BIL took about a thousand shots and uploaded them...my poor mam lifting her soup spoon to her mouth,my granda with crumbs all over his suit etc
![]() If your not at my wedding it's because I did not invite you and its none of your business. If I want to show people photos it should be my choice. Personmally I feel it's unavoidable.
Re: Photographs of wedding on Facebook-how to avoid??
this topic has scome up previously & if i remember correctly, i think somebody suggested messaging all of your (combined) friends via facebook in advance of the wedding asking them not to post photos of it on the site (& providing a link to a private photo sharing site, if you wish).
i just thought it was a very nifty way around it! Re: Photographs of wedding on Facebook-how to avoid??
How would it be too late to announce it at the meal - surely people wouldn't be able to upload all the photos of the day at that stage???
I wouldn't put it in the mass booklets - seems a little inappropiate. Could you spread the word via word of mouth that you don't want pictures posted? Theres been a couple of threads on this already - on ways to stop people... Re: Photographs of wedding on Facebook-how to avoid??
It's still impossible to express your displeasure at FB ubloads via word of mouth to every neighbour, relative at home and abroad, work colleague etc on both sides.A blanket approach on the day might be best as in the mass booklet or having the priest announce it before grace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
![]() ![]() Then of course you get the whole "who do you think you are" situation-your so private and special and unique...Eh...I think I'm a regular normal person which is why I dont deserve world wide web broadcasting!! ![]()
Re: Photographs of wedding on Facebook-how to avoid??
Hey Annie. Not even a little blue F symbol with an X like the no smoking sign in a small corner? If it's something the bride really feels strongly about. Most guests would be understanding? I know I would,it's not the biggest ask in the world by a bride. And the few who are annoyed are probably the ones your targeting...fork in one hand, phone in the other uploading at the meal...If they wait that long! ![]()
Re: Photographs of wedding on Facebook-how to avoid??
A little card on each table stating that
'Bride and Groom would kindly appreciate if photos of them, do not go on facebook' Seen it before at weddings. It works! [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

You see the "young ones" who are obcessed with facebook will be uploading as I walk down the aisle!Im so glad Im not the only one that feels this way.I was going to put a card on the table but I think it may be too late at that stage and also a card comes with our wedding favours so dont want to crowd the table.I was on to my family about it and they said just mention it around and let the word filter through and put a small line in the mass booklets like"on our special day the bride and groom request that no pictures are put up on any social network sites including facebook"or something like that!Ill fancy the words up a bit later!
![]() Once people know they can put up pics of themselves I dont think it should be a problem. [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

Re: Photographs of wedding on Facebook-how to avoid??
Its gas,to think that some people would put up pictures on facebook of the bride and groom before the day is over.
I just think its a bit rude (unless the Bride and groom are doing it themselves). [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]

Re: Photographs of wedding on Facebook-how to avoid??
I like the idea of a little card on each table. A lot of our guests will be more mature (!) I hope. Only inviting 2 younger cousins and they will be warned not to put any on FB.
If we put the cards on the tables it will give people time to take down the ones they have already put up before we get back onto FB!!!!! Re: Photographs of wedding on Facebook-how to avoid??
Hi Ladies - just to add my two cents....
It may be hard to stop this & we tried our best too. Despite this a few friends did put some up after our wedding which I seen when we were on our Honeymoon. TBH I loved it! ![]()
Re: Photographs of wedding on Facebook-how to avoid??
This is something that bugs me too, but the more I think of it, the more I don't really care as long as I can't see what people are saying. I've a setting where nobody can tag me without my approval, and I'll be checking all tags. Our guests are all mid-30s to mid-60s, and none would be major facebook users - I'm only worried about one person, the youngest of H2B's sisters, she uploads pictures of her bloody breakfast so she will have 1,000 photos up before we even get to the reception if I don't have a word with her beforehand and tell her not to upload anything.
Failing that, I know her account password. It'd be a shame if she couldn't get into it to upload anything for a day or two around the wedding.... ![]() Re: Photographs of wedding on Facebook-how to avoid??
hi all
i am in the same boat! i dont mind the guests putting pics of themselves up but just not us, we just dont want pages and pages of photos up, like 1 of my friends! im thinking of emailing my facebook friends and then putting it as my status as well, then also i have a candy buffet table and im going to put a note there as well, do you think that will be ok? ![]()
