evening food - chip van

Hi Folks,
We're considering getting a chip van to arrive the night of our wedding to sort out the munchies. Does anyone know if one can be hired? and recommendations?
I've seen on here that people get fish and chips as evening food but I assume that the hotel prepare this??

Sorry no help, but I love that idea! The only thing would be that the hotel might not allow it.

im really sorry but i hate this idea.

i cant help but think of the spears/federline trashy tracksuit and hamburger wedding.

your venue may not allow it as usually only food preped on their premises may be consumed - all to do with HACCP health and safety

Yep, thought it was a bit harsh myself - God forbid we do anything a bit different, or try to have a bit of a laugh.......

Better cancel the fireworks and ice cream van too...and the Elvis impersonator priest .....and the Doves

I saw in Ok magazine before that Holly Willoughby did this at her wedding. I actually thought it looked really good fun and the guests were loving it. I don't think its necessary though cos I always find I'm so full after the meal that when the afters food comes out I'm not too pushed, just eating it for the sake of it iykwim....so it could prob be an unnecessary expense on the day.

I love that idea! We're havin' fish & chips wrapped in paper for our afters food! Don't think it's trashy at all. Very chic imo and I don't own one real or rip-off Juicy Couture tracksuit. As long as your hotel allows it I'd go for it!! I'd love that if I was at a wedding. Bit of craic! & yes the photos would be great!!

Think you might just have to track down a van owner who's food you like and approach them. This is the way we had to do it for an ice-cream van a few years ago! ...which was a big hit I might add. Then u have to decide, do you pay or do your guests...
