Armada Hotel Co.Clare Corkage - HELP

Hi there we getting married in the Armada Hotel in the Summer. We are just wondering has anyone negotiated a price on corkage. We meetin the Wedding Planner and have no ideas where to start negotiations - if anyone can offer any suggestions it would be gratefully appreciated -

Hi girls,
Just wanted to let ye know we had our wedding at the Armada in March and we could not say enough about the place. It is amazing how many people have said to us it was the best wedding they were ever at. The food was amazing, the hotel itself, the service, the beach is so near (it was like our own private beach the next day as all our guests spent hours down there as the weather was so nice) and of course Saurabh, he souldn't do enough for us, you'd nearly think it was the only wedding he was organising!
So rest assured ye will have fabuolus days there!

Hi Ladies..congrats on finding a fab hotel to have your wedding. We are having our reception there may next year and we were told the corkage would be the same as it is this year which he told us was €5.00 - In the current climate i think its too much so lots of haggling will need to be done.. please let me know how ye all get on! As were not getting married until 2011 it will be a long time before we have to haggle. Best of luck. x :xox

WOW €5 corkage is very good. The hotel can't be making much on that at all, by the time you take the cost of providing the glassware and serving the wine there'd be very little left over.

What have you been quoted? i still think its expensive as plenty hotels are offering it free, and i dont think they factor in the cost of glasses etc as they arent a cost to the hotel as they use them time and time again.

on their brouchure i htink its € but i havent heard anyone get below €4. Would that include if you wanted to provide your own champagne i wonder would that still be €5.

Yep generally regardless of what it is you provide they charge corkage so its most likely the same for the champagne.

Hi all,

Have been off the radar for a while but thank you SO SO much for all your replies. We met with Saurabh and our corkage is 5 Euro per bottle which is excellent in comparison to what we were originally given as a price. One thing we forgot to ask about and not sure if yee could help - chaircovers??? We really would love them and do have to meet with Saurabh again - just wondering in the mean time did any of you negotiate on same or have you heard of the hotel giving them for free??

It costs to wash the glasses - I assume your hotel will provide clean glasses for your guests.

I dont appreciate the sarcasim. I suspect the glasses will be clean, this is a forum to help out brides with tips and tricks for saving money on there wedding.

Gee, I've been a member here for 5 years and the whole time thought it was to help brides plan their wedding. Didn't realise it was just for saving money on said wedding.

FYI - We were quoted €4 for the chair covers.

Hi Folks, i'm really surprised at the price for the Chair covers at €4! We are having 220 ppl so that is €880 additional cost! I was hoping they would give us those for free!!!! We are going to meet Saurabh in early June as our wedding isnt until Sept. Has anyone had any better luck with corkage or chair covers?

Also had our tasting last weekend, the steak is to DIE for...

Hi girls,

If they're that expensive you're probably better off hiring them yourself!unless the price is negotiable...seriously how much could it cost to dry clean a chair cover?
