Main course choice or not?

We didn't have a choice at ours and nobody batted an eyelid - of course vegetarian & special dietary requirements were catered for and the hotel did offer a silent option on the day but to my knowledge nobody expressed a dislike for the main so as far as I know nobody took them up on the silent option!

A silent option sounds interesting! I'm not going to have a choice, just fillet of beef, as it really brings the price up. Fingers crossed that will be okay, but I'm a bit worried now reading this thread!

By the way, have done a question about dietary requirements on the RSVP cards, and so far the only ones that have come back have said no mushrooms, no chickpeas, and the most popular response - loads of food please!! So hopefully I will be okay, maybe I have an easily pleased crowd!
Realise I'm probably talking to myself as this thread is a bit old but I'd be grateful for any other opinions on the choice thing!

I would definitly offer a choice-the food is a major part of the wedding and you could end up isolating alot of guests!

I know it definitly does save alot of money to only have one main course but i would save somewhere else and offer a choice.

If you really cant stretcch to offer a second choice maybe you could ask the hotel to put the vegetarian option on the menu as the second choice? xxx

If it's within your budget I definitely think you should offer a choice, I think people like having some options on their menus even if it's just for the main course!
