Cupcakes??

these seem to be a newer option as an alternative to 'wedding cake' and although I love cup cakes, what do people really think of them as a 'wedding cake' option????

The cupcakes can look pretty and I do also like the traditional cake, so I wouldn't say I'd have a preference.

I could live without a wedding cake if I had to, I don't really see the point in them, so we're just having a simple cake for the sake of it.

what are you thinking yourself?

I haven't actually started the hunt for the cake as yet, but in my head I want to combine the traditional cake - maybe a tier or 2, just to give the more traditional guests the option of wedding cake - and then have a bundle of cupcakes for the majority of the guests...

I love cupcake wedding cakes - wouldnt be a fan of traditional wedding cake.

Cupcakes are a surprisingly divisive topic on WOL!!! Some people just love them and some people really hate them! Personally I prefer a traditional wedding cake but if i saw tham at somebody else's wedding i'd probably think they look nice-i'm just not having them for my own wedding.

i am having cup cakes because I think they are more practical as I think they will all be eaten and not left on the tables like wedding cake that I have seen at a lot of wedding and if they are not we plan on giving them out the next day in the hotel over a cup of tea/coffee before the guests leave. a wedding cake would go to waste an i dont want a box with a half eaten cake for the journey home. also they are a lot cheaper than a wedding cake

I'm having a three tiered traditional cake and then a cup cake for each person at the top table, purely cause husband to be like cup cakes and I like traditional cakes!

Cupcakes are a great idea but I thinks the option of the Wedding cake & the Cupcakes are better.. It should keep everyone happy

im having both! an traditional wedding cake and then for the reception when people arrive i will be putting out cup cakes etc for them with tea and coffee!! they are only little miniture ones but they look lovely!

Its a persons only personal choice! do what you feel right for yourself and dont be thinking will others like them!

im going to try and let the daygo at its own pace!! the only reason we decided to get married on this date is (and you will laugh) is taht my hairdresser was booked out with weddings on all the dates that we wanted and the only one that stood out was my birthday! i think my h2b is organising a cake or something at the hotel but im not pushed! it will be something extra special every year!!! :o)ll
