I think that 20euro a bottle is a good prices for Champagne - if you go under that it will probably taste different - you can find cheaper sparkling wine - but if you want Champagne and Champagne only i would not go under 20euro a bottle - a check out the name of the bottle - just because it is from Champagne region does mean that it is the best!

When we were shopping around the cheapest we could get it (I think) was something like €32. Like another post said, just check that the champagne is the 'good stuff'!!

Thanks girls for replies, would prefer Champagne to Prosecco, it is called "Didier Chopin" and I really liked the taste of it but can't say I'm a connoisseur of champagne!! Anyone out there ever try this one before????

I havent tasted that but to be honest I doubt you'd get cheaper. Taste wise I think its important to go with what you like!! I wouldnt worry too much about label etc - for example Bollinger is quite an expensive, 'good name' champagne but personally Im not keen on it. For me its all about the drinkability :hic

i know what you mean, its not only about the name. Would just feel more at ease if I know for certain it wasn't a plonk champagne! Any one ever taste Didier Chopin champagne??????????

Didier Chopin Champagne is lovely I work in the wine business & a lot of what you pay for bubbles is really just paying for the brand & not what's in the bottle. You'd do well to find a good quality lesser known chamapgne like Chopin & save some omney ( or buy a few more bottles)! Also always look for discount when buying anything more than 6 bottles, us wine sellers will always have a better price if pushed! Good luck!

If budget is an issue would you look at prosecco or cava? I personnally prefer them and we got a fantastic deal for the drinks reception- you can get decent bottles on special for under 10euro.

it s not a supplier, its a friends gift to us as his friend's parents own a restaurant and they are going to sell it to us at their cost price... so sorry can't help you there
