TOP TIER Cakes- Discount?

Hi girls,

I've been looking into ordering a cake from top tier in Cavan as I absolutely love their cakes. I came up with a design and asked for a quote, however its a bit more expensive than I'd hoped and because my wedding is so far away theres a large delivery cost aswell. So what I wanted to know has anybody come across them at any wedding fairs recently and if so do you know whether they offer any discount if you book it then? Or does anybody have any spare discount leaflets? I don't know whether they give discount or not but if I could manage to get it it would help bring down the cost more in line with my budget and that would help a lot in telling my h2b the quote. Any info would be appreciated as I think they're going to be at another wedding fair this weekend and we could make the trip if I knew we were going to get discount.

Have you had a look locally where your reception is for someone to do it, that would get rid of the delivery cost at least?

Hi there MrsG2b2011 - we're getting married in May and have placed our cake order with Top Tier. We first saw them at a wedding fair at the Trim Castle Hotel and were immediately smitten with the quality of their work. Samples they offered on the day were of a much higher quality than the other cake stands. We also got onto their mailing list and were lucky to pick up €100 discount off our chosen design. Although they're based in Cavan, they also offered free delivery to Trim Castle Hotel. All in all, we're confident that they will deliver the goods on the day. The very best of luck to you.

thanks for the reply. I completly agree with you their cakes are absolutely delicious and much nicer than a lot of other companies out there.We looked locally to our hotel but found nothing of the same standard for the same price. Yes there were cheaper suppliers but I didn't find anything that tasted as fresh as top tiers cakes, apart from the really expensive companies in Dublin and a lot of other suppliers didn't use buttercream in their sponges which made the whole thing seem very dry, so I decided I really want to book them. We recently realised we needed a 4tier cake to cover the amount of people coming which was pushing up the price and Our main problem was the delivery is 60euro so I was hoping I could manage to get discount on the cake to make it seem a little more reasonable. However, after a discussion with Sinead I just changed my design around a little and I managed to source my brooches etc elsewhere for cheaper than they were charging, so saved about 50euro so I'm happy with that. My nanny also wanted to pay for our cake as a present so that helps us out a little. I obviously didn't tell her how much it was costing in total as she'd probably have a heart attack but we're letting her pay for a bit and we'll cover the rest. I just really love my cakes and desserts as do a lot of other friends and family members so it was something that was important to me on the day. A lot of people aren't bothered with a good cake as it won't be eaten which is fair enough, but I wanted something I created the look of for our photos and also something yummy to eat afterwards. So fingers crossed it all works out on the day.
