Wedding Cake/Photographers

Hi all,

My Fiance and I are getting married abroad and having a reception party here when we get back...We're on a tight budget so dont have a lot to spend on things like cakes etc..just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that does affordable cakes for approx 150 people?

Also, any ideas on affordable photographers would be great too!!

what part of the country is your reception in?

The reception is in the Keadeen Hotel in Newbridge, but will travel within a reasonable distance for the right price!!

What about a marks and spencers cake. You could decorate it yourself with ribbon and flowers.

I had thought of that but do M&S in the republic do any cakes other than fruit cakes? I wont have time to go up north for one as Im only back from the U.S on the thursday night and the party is the saturday!

I put together a package before for a couple like yourselves who were married abroad. I covered their evening party with a few formal pictures, the following weekend we did a Rock the Frock photoshoot and the final album was in 3 sections starting with pictures from their Florida wedding, Dublin party and Rock the Frock.

The bride was delighted to be able to wear her dress 3 ties and it really was great fun. That couple had a cupcake wedding cake, I know you can now get these in Liffey Valley, not sure where this couple bought theirs.

I bought my own wedding cake in Annes Bakery on Mary Street for €300 but I have also heard of brides bake their own cakes too, although I would imagine the icing part would be quite difficult but it could be a fun thing to do.

was in tesco the other day and saw that they are now also doing wedding cakes. dont know if they are fruit cakes just saw them in passing

Thanks for all your replies guys! Havent been on here in ages! Have sourced a photographer-and my best friend has offered to do the cake! Would never dream of doing the cake myself-way too much pressure and ive only a day when i get back from the US before the party!!
