How to store wine?

Hi all, :wv
I know i am crazy but i got a good deal on white wine and want to order it this week, but our wedding isnt until this time next year!
Seemingly wine doesnt go off, especially since its a corked bottle but...
is this true?
does it have to be stored at a specific temperature?? any ideas/advice? :thnk

White wine generally has to drunk withen a year unless it is vintage, As it will go off and will taste like vinegar! The fact that the wine is corked means you will have to store it on its side (if it was screw cap it wouldnt matter) and in a cool area away from bright lights! In the boxes on there side would be best! It will say on the back of the bottle when the wine is best drunk by on the new world wines (and the cheaper ones) it is usually one year!

I used to work in a wine shop and would disagree with the points you made below! Personally im not buying our wine till at least 6mths before hand but it will prob be 3months in reality! there are always good deals in the summer and at christmas!

Thanks Jezabelle for your advice :thnk - i dont know anything about wine-apart from what i like to drink myself :hic so i will definatley take your advice and cancel the order! i wouldnt wanna risk it goin off. hopefully itl still be available later in the year. Thanks again!
