Hey again, thanks for getting back on this! Funny that you got back today I was just practicing my piping earlier! Yeah i meant piping with royal icing! I just cant get my head around it though! I think my bag for piping icing has holes or something in it as I always manage to end up in a sticky mess! And with the icing too thick or too runny! Am coming along grand with the fondant though!

Have you had another go of your cake?

hi thanks, ne idea's on wat i could do!!! i want 1 fruit and then a Madeira but wat other cake could i make that would last? O:o)

The only one that lasts is fruit, choc biscuit will last week or so and the madeira less. You can bake ahead and freeze but it will still leave you decorating in the days before wedding.

How many days before the wedding to you intend to do your baking and also your decorating - we will be better able to advise if you are more specific!

2 days b4 de wedding I'd like to have all baking done nd de day b4 to b icing de cake!!!!

That's grand so, you can make anything you like then. They'll all keep very well for 2 days - they'd even keep for 3 good days. I'm looking at making lemon and choc cakes and they'll be made about 2/3 days before and I've tried the lemon twice now and it's kept well for the 3 days anyway - dunno about more as it was gone then! ;-) Happy baking

You can also bake early and freeze - then defrost when you wanna ice.

The choc biscuit cake you posted about should also be fine for this length of time IMO.

I'm following the "good food wedding cake" recipe! Google that to get it! It's fab (so far)! Choc, lemon and fruit cake (smallest tier) but my mum will make her fruit cake instead of the one in the recipe!

Hi guys, its such a good idea. My husband to be and a friend ( new husband) decided to make each others wedding cake after a few drinks one night. It was so simple and the bride and groom loved it. All biscuit cake ( so many variations on line) and decorated it with flakes and ribbon!! Everyone loved it. O:o)
