Bubbly-glasses per bottle

Bubbly-glasses per bottle

Postby irisbride » Sun Apr 17, 2022 8:18 pm

Hi all, did an experiment to see how many glasses of champagne per bottle. We reckon you get somewhere between 7 and 8 glasses per 750ml bottle. Now can anyone tell me how many glasses per guest for drinks reception? Also can anyone recommend a good prosecco or sparkling wine at decent prices. Tasted the aldi options at 8.99 and both are terrible. The pinogrigio lacks fizz and the cava is too acidic. Hoping to find something under 10 euro,

Tesco do some good own brand champagnes - not sure of price though. M & S do a good cava. yeh id say 7-8 glasses would be about right as champagne flutes are quite narrow.

Hi there

Not to sure where you are based but Corkscrew (wine shop on Chatham Street Dublin 2) does a great deal on a fab prosseco. I think its around €8something a bottle. They are great in there, sorry I can't remember the name of the prosseco but they will know which one you mean when you explain it's for your wedding and the price.

Hope that helps.

if you're having a drinks reception, and I'm not going by weddings but rather work functions I've been to, usually 2 glasses per person is the minimum. However, if you'll have canapes and guests lingering in the hall for any length of time, then 3 would be more appropriate.

You have to remember that when a venue pours the glasses they don't fill them right up, so it's not that your guests are getting hammered on your account, but rather milling around with a sip of champagne. Looks like you've measured how many glasses you get in a bottle (presumably using your own glasses), so just go with your own observation/calculation :D
