Hi, we're getting married Oct 2012 and I hope to bake my own cake. I'm doing a trial run this weekend. I made a 12inch fruit cake yesterday. I slightly burned it! At least this is the trial run. I found it hard to find a receipe for a 12inch fruit cake and would be glad to email it to anyone who would like it. It was an old receipe of my Mam's. I'm going to do a madeira and a chocolate biscuit cake as well. Not sure which size yet. I've made a small madeira a few weeks ago just to practice icing and I was pleased enough. I will keep it simple. What I have in mind is to ice the cake then tie a ribbon around the bottom of the cake and bring it up like I am tying a gift box, tie into a bow and place some sugar flowers I can buy on top. Fingers crossed!!
