What do you think of this wedding menu???

Hi Guys,

We are having a June Wedding and I just wanted to get suggestions on a suitable menu? Our hotel has advised not to give choices apart from the main course because it cuts down on cost so much (aprox €15 per head), so here's what we were thinking:

Starter: Duck Parcel Served with sun blushed salad & sesame dressing

Soup: Cream of Vegetable Soup

Main Course: Medallions of Irish Fillet of Beef served on a bed of herbed Mash, flat capped mushrooms stuffed with red onion marmalede & a bordelaise Jus
or
Pan Fried Fillet of Seabass served on a ragout of new potatoes, aspargus, red onions and cherry tomatoes

Dessert: Symphony of Miniature Homemade Desserts

Is this ok or should we give a choice on starter and soup??

We're not having options on our soup and starters. You can't go wrong with veg soup, in fairness, and the duck starter sounds like something most people would have a stab at as well (sounds fab to me).
I'm getting hungry now...

I think your menu sounds great! I would love this as a guest at a wedding!

I don't think you need to give choices on your starter and soup TBH. Its a 4 course meal so even if a guest didn't like either the starter or soup they're not gonna go hungry!

Great thanks for the feedback so far. This is really putting my mind at ease, we kind of wanted to put the extra money into 2 lovely main courses rather than the choice, but then we started to doubt ourselves. Thanks again!

I think it sounds yum, the only thing I might reconsider is the duck, I know tons of people who don't eat it.

sounds fab to me!! Even if you have a few who don't like duck, practically everyone likes veg soup & of course there's always the bread rolls if they're that hungry :o0

Menu sounds lovely - I'm one of those people who won't eat duck so that's the only part of your menu that doesn't appeal to me!
