My package includes half a bottle of wine person so if you were going to go by that guideline it would be 65 bottles.

If you haven't booked your venue yet I wouldn't go researching wines just yet cause you might find that the venue don't allow corkage which is the case with our venue.

Hi dollydel thanks for your reply the venue is at the top of the list right now so we are going through their entire quote to help decide on this venue or not so need to think about it as i thought it would be cheaper but 65 bottles is a lot more than I thought!

We also had the choice of going with a glass and a top up which would have reduced our package but we didn't want to cut corners on things that are noticed.

I work in a hotel and we estimate getting 5 glasses of wine out of a bottle so if you wanted to give a glass and a top up which is normal then u are talking about in region of 40 bottles but keep in mind some people dont drink wine so u mightnot need as many, but u are better to have too many than not enough!

Generally it is usually half bottle per person so for 130 guests you would need 65 bottles, some wont drink, some will drink more but as far as i know this is the usual allowance.

Half a bottle per person is the norm, so you'd be loking at around 65 bottles.

One piece of advice though - check with your hotel if they charge corkage for all bottle, or only those that are used. Different hotels have different policies - eg our hotel only opened what was needed so we were only charged corkage on the number of bottles opened and they return the unopened bottles to us, but a friend who got married in another hotel was charged corkage for all the bottles they brought (even though they weren't all used) and the hotel held onto the spare bottles.
