Sounds yum. The vol u vent is a good choice to have with your more unusual starter. It's total 80's food that only ever puts in an appearance at weddings but lets face it ...everyone eats vol u vents.

Main courses and desserts sound yummy too.

Yum! One of the nicest menus i've seen. Wouldn't be into the soup myself, bit too out there for Irish tastes (I once saw a poll where more than 50% people said that they hated tomato soup!!!) but the rest of it sounds delish. As another poster said, love that you've balanced your unusual first starter with a plainer dish.

Can I come?

Thanks everyone !
Very nice feedback. The numers are small so thats why we can afford the menu.
The traditional vol au vent is purely for the benefit of my Dad and HTB who share the same
conservative tastes in food .
Hopefully it will suit everyone . :wv

Great menu!

Love your starter choices - something unusual and a great favourite for those who aren't adventerous enough to try the seafood cake (the word Thai will put a lot of people off!)

Soup - The flavour wouldn't be my cup of tea, so I'd probably skip that

Mains - excellent

Dessert - excellent

Now, will I PM you my address so you can send me an invite?!! :o0 :wv

The menu sounds nice. I had that soup at a wedding recently and tbh I didn't like it. It was nice to try something different though. A few people I talked too felt the same way.

Hi all.
Thanks for constructive feedback.
The soup seems to be only element people have some reservations about.
We have to taste all the food yet so will see what we think then , might have to change to veg soup or something a bit plainer. :)

Judy if you do tatse it and decide to change what about a pumkin or butternut squash soup? We had butternut squash with carrot for ours. When my family and some friends heard about it and some of DH's they kept telling us to change it to veg. We didn't want to though and we are glad we didn't as it turned out that once people actually tried it they really liked it. I know my family esp weren't just being polite as they would have had no problem telling me if it was horrible. Also roasted butternut squash with roasted with red pepper is fab :lvs :lvs :lvs :lvs :lvs :lvs If you decide you do like it though then go for it. As I said it was nice at least to try it. Now it wasn't awful but just not something I would order again iykwim?. The orange just didn't sit right with me.
