I'm looking for suggestions of types of wine to buy for our wedding.. I only drink white wine, normally sauv blanc is that suitable? Was reading online pinot grigio is probably better all rounder? as for red, havn't a clue- cab sauv, merlot or shiraz??? Having beef and seabass as mains..See tesco have 25% off for 6 bottles of wine so would like to buy now. Did anyone get a good deal in an off licence or am i better sticking with a larger supermarket?

Asked himself as it's what he does. He suggested a cab Sauvignon, preferably a chillean one, carmen is very good or eagle hawk. He's suggesting a new Zealand Sauvignon blanc, sacred hill is one he recommends. You should def be able to pick them up in telco with the 25% off :o)ll

Thanks a mill, some good tips there! Least I know what I'm looking for now!! Found a montana marlborough sauvignon blanc I really like its nz as you recommended!! My friend drinks red wine and is sampling the carmen tonight for me! Just wondering is it ok to go for different brands red and white?

Good choice re the NZ Sauvignon Blanc! Always a winner :) re the Red tbh wouldnt be mad on Carmen Cab Sav ... Would recommend something like any of the Marques de Riscal Brand

Superquinn have an offer on Wolf Blass Eaglehawk Cabernet Sauvignon at the moment, €5 per bottle instead of €10 and very drinkable, I think its one lots of people would like drinking at a good price. We have stocked up anyway....as for white I think lots of people like sauvignon blanc and it goes well with the type of meals served at Receptions. We got our wine at O'Briens when they were doing one of their deals with extra savings on loyalty card - it meant we got enough to get some of our wine free and they can give you lots of good advice on what works well.
