How much drink required for a villa Wedding?

How much drink required for a villa Wedding?

Postby yrshopping » Thu Mar 08, 2022 11:39 am

Hi Ladies,

Just wondering if anyone has advice on how much beer, wine & spirits I would need for my wedding? I'm having a villa wedding in Spain in June with approx 60 guests. As its in a villa I will need to supply the full bar and I definitely do not want to run out of drink. I am planning a day two BBQ so really I need to stock the bar for 2 days. Plus I want to offer the main spirits too.

Any tips greatly appreciated!! O-O

If it is in Spain I’d get some rose as people generally like drinking that in the heat not too much red, it’s very hard work to drink red in the heat, The good thing is if you go to a vineyard you might be able to get the wine by the gallon and serve it in Carafes, it works out super cheap and is what the hotels and restaurants do locally in Spain!

Also id do a quick survey amongst family and friends to see what people drink and if they know what others drink, Just to make sure you have that special drink for someone if its only what they drink! So maybe this is what I’d get judging on popular trends at the moment,

16 Bottles Red
16 bottles Rose
24 bottles white
3 bottles of Vodka (get the local Spanish alternative)
3 Bottle of Gin (get the local Spanish alternative)
2 Bacardi (get the local Spanish alternative)
2 Captain Morgan’s
2 Malibu (get the local Spanish alternative)
Lots of Beers (Maybe about 240 bottles at a minimum? Avoid cans)
Whiskey - Jack Daniels is popular or Bushmills if the crowd is older
Brandy (depending on survey)
Guinness (depending on survey)
Cider (depending on survey)

Get in loads of Coke, 7 up, tonic water, Fizzy orange, orange Juice, pineapple juice and gallons of bottled water

Jezabelle, Thanks soooooo much for yout detailed reply!! Really appreciate the effort you went to! It definitely sheds some light on the drinks situation. I just found out while in Spain last week that the drinks company I plan to order everything from will accept returns if its not used which is a great help. Takes the pressure off getting my order right as I can just overorder (to be safe) and send it back! Thanks again O-O

Hey there!

Is that standard with the catering companies that you have to supply the alcohol or is it the option that you have gone with? Also, will they serve it for you?

Off to Nerja on sunday to view venues and ask such questions to our planner but would be good to have as much stored info as i can!

Thanks a mil O-O

Hi

So exciting for you just heading out! Hope you enjoy it.
Its not the standard, there seems to be lots of options available. Some catering companies include wine and soft drinks in their menu price, sometimes putting a limit to free drinks of 3 hours. The catering company I went with didn't offer this but they do have a link with a drinks suppler who will delivery to the villa (give fridges etc if needed) and take back whatever drink is left over. I'm going through my guest list and making a rough guess who might drink what (what type of drink they are likely to drink) and the drinks crowd are working out what I need. I'll order a bit extra just to be sure of having plenty and the drinks people will take back whats not used. The drinks prices work out slightly cheaper than if I went direct to a supermarket.

Hope this helps, any more questions just shout :yelrotflmaosmilie:

I'd just ask them. We put it on our r.s.v.p on our website.
