go and have a look at your local supermarket and that should give you ideas

Starting simply you could go for sandwiches or maybe biscuits and dips
Moving up to things like mini quiches, sausagerolls, springrolls

The choices are endless but its making me hungry just thinking about it..,

Hello mrs05

M&S do mini things like meatballs, and gefelte fish balls (which are soo yum) and they do little sausages and quiches and canope party packs with a mixture of things.
I had some of their stuff at my engagement party and everyone loved them!

Hi there,
I would be very surprised if your hotel would allow you to bring in your own canopies as they are responsible for all food served on their premises. Hygiene regulations are very strict nowadays as all foods must be traceable to their original source, and must be stored and transported according to strict regulations. Hotels are well aware of this situation andare well capable of exploiting the situation by charging ridiculous prices. Do you know what I did? I organised soup and sandwiches in a good local pub prior to ceremony and everyone was delighted with that.

I must buy my canopes from the hotel, I would doubt if anyone would let you bring in your own. If you ask them for a list they will have one with everything they offer. I am having mini chicken satays, mini pizzas, prawn toast and chive and cheese tartlets. They have some other fab stuff but price wise some things are really expensive. Each tray has 30 items and the ones I am getting are priced from between E25 to E33 but there are some trays priced in the mid 50s and 60s.

Not to be repeating myself but the hotel gave us a fab list and depending on what price you want to go for there were some great ideas on the list so dont worry there you will definately be inspired once you read the list.

G'day Athas,
Sorry! I couldn't resist, re: the cost of the soup and sangers, my Dad did a deal with the pub and got it at €3 for lovely soup/rolls! and the sandwiches were in baskets and were charged per basket @ €10 so it worked out quite reasonable as not everyone stuffed themselves! I had a buffet at night as well which was €9 per head for cocktail bites, satay sticks, etc. etc. plenty of it too! still it all adds up when multiplied by 180...you know pub/hotel meal/and buffet. Good luck Athas!
