Confused over which Menu to choose

Confused over which Menu to choose

Postby hannah » Mon Mar 21, 2022 3:43 pm

I am down to two menus but now have to make a final choice. So I would appreciate your feedback. They hotel charges a huge amount for a choice of main course do you think this seems mean (its €12 euro per head for a choice)

Menu 1 :?:

Crisp puff pastry
Filled with fricassee of Chicken and button mushrooms, flavoured with fresh tarragon and Parsley
---
Cream of Vegetable soup
Topped with soft herb cream
---
Champayne Sorbet
---
Grilled Sirloin of Beef
With Thyme jus, roast vegetables & Dauphinoise Potato
---
Cream filled Profiteroles
Coated with a dark Chocolate sauce

Tea/Coffee
*****************************************************
Menu 2

Wild Mushroom and Chicken Terrine
Wrapped in Smoked Bacon, served with fresh market leaves tossed in truffle scented dressing and garlic crème fraiche
-------

Roast red Pepper soup

Grilled Sirloin of Beef
With Thyme jus, roast vegetables & Dauphinoise Potato
---

White Chocolate Cheesecake
With toasted Almonds and Whiskey syrup

Freshly brewed Coffee or Tea

I think menu 1 is the more universal menu, nothing to upset the picky eaters...the terrine and red pepper soup might not appeal to as many people.

Greedy girl that I am I would eat every single thing on both of them - but if you have any fussy eaters at all I would go for number 1. DH is a bit of a fussy one when it comes to food - and I know he would just love that menu (once I explained what all the fancy bits are)

Is there any way the hotel would give you a combination of the 2 menus, thus allowing you to have the bits you want from each, especially since the main course is the same in each?

I would go for menu 1 as I like the sorbet, but I'd prefer the cheesecake from menu 2 as the dessert  contrary aren't I!!!!!

I love menu 2 as sounds different and exciting! Although terrine would not suit fussy eaters.Agree a mix of two if possible.Love cheesecake option & pepper soup aswell as steak
