Vintage afternoon tea marquee wedding

Hey girls,
I'm married 9 months now and only getting round to doing this now! I'm beyond jealous of all you ladies that have your big day a head of you, it really is truely magical.

Me and mrjt decided early on that we wanted something very relaxed and informal. My parents have a super big garden so we decided to have it there. initially we looked at the giant tipiswhich were fab but then i visited the wedding show and looked at the more traditional white draped marquee they turned my head! a friend commented that I didnt know whether I wanted to be cinderella or pocohontas! lol! Finally i decided on the traditional marquee.

dress hunting began, like most of you I had an idea of what I wanted. I searched lots of shops, none of which had what i wanted and many of them told me what i had in mind simply wouldnt suit me. i was on the verge of giving up and going for something that really wasnt me when i found it. and oh my god do i love it!

i decided i NEEDED fab shoes! i opted for christian louboutins. love love love!

We decided to go for a vintage afternoon tea after the service so my mum took great delight in trawling car boots and charity shops looking for china cups & saucers and cake stands. incidently ( shameless plug alert!!) she is now renting these out http://www.vintagecuphire.co.uk/Vintage ... ut_Us.html

in the evening we got the caterers to do a bbq and salads etc with a dessert buffet and cheese board to follow. Wee things that people loved were the flip flop baskets and bathroom baskets. done really cheaply but went down a treat. I also did a sweetie trolly too although i cant find any pics of it.

we had such a great day and it went way too quickly. Honeymoon was in cabo mexico which was just heaven!

WOW! I love your wedding, well done. IT most of meant so much to your parents that it was in their home. Im wondering what did you put in the 'bathroom baskets' and where did all your guests sleep?

awe girls, thanks very much! All chuffed, i know its not everyones cup of tea!

in the bathroom basket i had plasters, wee sowing kit, paracetamol, hayfever tabs, deorderant, tampons, babywipes, hand cream, hair clips, hairspray. some of those wee gel things for shoes, mints ... i think thats it. It was actually mrjts mum made it up for me. She called me a few days before the wedding to see if she should maybe put some condoms in it! bless her! lol!
