sorry, should have said "co-ordinator" there  as in the girl in the hotel who we deal with, listens to my stupid questions and queries and generally seems to have the patience of a saint. jesus i wish i could afford a wedding planner, my life would be so much easier!!!

have to agree, i think it's too much money. but the mother, his parents etc keep hounding on and on at me to have nibbles. we are having cocktail sausages sambos etc for afters so not doing that twice.

i have such a headache from it all it's not even funny i was hoping i'd get the answers here

We had canapes instead of favours. We paid €300 for canapes for 100 people. We had about 200 at the wedding.
Instead of laying them down on a table we asked could waiters walk around with the platters instead so that they would go further. If they were laid at a table you might have people grabbing loads!!! Everyone was well impressed, even if they only got one, they appreciated having been offered something!
Favours cost between €1 and €3 per person and most of the time are not appreciated. Also, you have to spend more time re: the favours but with the canapes the job is left to the hotel!

Thats my opinion, think canapes look well on arrival!

At the end of the day Neadi I'd negotiate the canape fees as you're having a big wedding.Go for maybe 2 choice option if you think canapes are a good idea. However, I've been to so many weddings over the years & only 1 had canapes, which was a wedding in France. We used to eat sambos in a place where we might change en route to wedding or a big brekki to get us through the day

Just my opinion

Hi Neadi,

Not sure how much the canopies are. will have to look the price up but they are not 100 miles away from the price you are quoted.

Like what the other posters have said don't budget for everyone for the canopies. We are having 80 guest but we are only doing canopies for 50.

that way it should work out in around the same price as the favours

First come first served. It might stop the stragglers stopping off in the pub :!:
