generally I'd say whatever you're most comfortable with as long as it's not untidy, a distraction to you or the board or over your face.

Hi Neadi
I did an interview recently and I was lucky enough to get some feedback afterwards (I didn't get the job). The best piece of advise was to put yourself in the shoes of the interviewer and try to think of what it is that they are looking for and that they need from you. If you can think about this beforehand it will help a lot with your answers, or else ask leading questions during the interview.
Best of luck and let us know how you get on.

not at all mrs summer it's a reception/secretarial position ina quantity surveyors office. bit a change from what i've been doing for the last 6 years (insurance admin) so i was kind of surprised to be called for the interview, saw the add in the paper and faxed cv in directly. fingers crossed as it would mean a 15/20 min drive as opposed to the nearly 1.5 hours each way that i'm doing as it is!!!

Neadi good luck!

Re asking questions re this type of job, it would be important to know what your job remit will be as very often a receptionist/admin is very busy with the admin part. You will be the face for the place so very important role aswell as responsible for call taking and passing on calls etc. Ask re training opportunities within the company. What are the benefits with the job. Will there be a temporary review period etc

Just a tip many years ago I did a temp job just like this and the boss wanted tea making constantly with particular biscuits or he'd be unhappy!!! I felt I was in a chauvinistic office so glad only there for 3 week temp time.make sure you feel very comfortable with those interviewing you

I'm sorry to disagree with the majority and I dont want to add to your nerves but I really think hair tied up looks smarter for an interview. Even just slicked back into a neat ponytail is classy yet comfortable.
If you have time you could google the company to see if they have a website and then throw in some facts you read like "I know you deal with xxx and was wondering xxx"
Just remember you have a lot to offer and your life does not depend on this so theres no need to stress out about it.
Best of luck, I'll say a prayer for you :D
