Wondering what you think....

Invited my MIL to hen & she suggested she bring her sister to share a room, I said of course no problem. Then she rang me today & has asked 3 more sisters - 2 of which are coming. So that's her & two sister and maybe another one as well.......am a bit baffled, I said at the time no problem. H2B is angry & embarresed though....what should I do???

Hi

I have the same problem/query - my mil2b has 6 sisters who live in Belfast and she asked if they could all come down and bring me out for a meal as a second mini-hen. I said no problem actually sounds like great fun as the stories I have heard about them when they get together are hilarious but h2b went mad and said it would look bad to others that I was having a second mini-hen with just his relatives. Not sure what to do now - maybe will have one big hen and organise it for a weekend they are all down.

If it doesn't really bother you, let them all come. At least they will have their own little circle and you won't be fretting, also if you're heading to a club, your mil and her sisters might just head off to the hotel themselves and leave the young ones to it!
Personally, it wouldn't bother me at all!

I reckon if they're up for the craic leave them at it...
Mums and older ones at the hen might feel a little left out if you're there with all your mates so she's probaby thinking feck it, may as well make a night of it and bring the girls with me!! Will probably be a lot more fun for her and you won't have to be looking after her...???

if you don't mind then don't let it be a problem, at least she'll have people she knows there and you won't feel like you have to look after her.

Maybe he's just afraid you'll insist on him taking your Dad and Uncles with him on his Stag!

If you don't mind I don't see why what he thinks matters!

I think she is using it as an excuse for a night away with her sisters which is nice too - she is probably feeling a bit funny about a hen with a lot of young people and this might make her feel better. She will appreciate you for not minding and you won't have to worry about her either!!

I agree with AllieMac, she will appreciate you not minding, and she probably felt a little awkward at the thought of going to your hen alone...she probaby felt she would stick out like a sore thumb, and then of course you never know she could be dealing with her own set of 'which sister to ask' politics, so asked all 3 maybe thinking only one would say yes and now they all have! We get alot of hens through my work and the ones that look like their having the most fun are the ones with all the mammys and all...nothing like women who have been there and done that to show you how its done!
:D
nybride06, why would it look weird to anyone...you dont have to call it a mini-hen. it could just be the women on his family taking you out...i think that it would be a really fun and memorable night in the lead up to your wedding!

i was actually annoyed with mil for not inviting her brothers girlfriend (shes very quiet) i thought it was a bad reflection on me that she wasn't invited and I told mil how annoyed i was...in saying that i had 40 people at my hen so it depends on what you're doing.
