The bar food there is lovely as well if you don't fancy the more formal restaurant. We've only ever eaten in the bar the few times we've been there and it has been v tasty.
The thermal spa area is really nice - you could literally spend hours there. You don't need to bring loads of clothes as you'll spend a lot of day in spa and then just need something for dinner. You can wear robes around the place during day and down to brekkie etc. Just so relaxing and you switch off from everything while you're there. Re: whoop whoop - Booked Monart
If you are going for treatments, be sure to book in advance.....either as soon as you arrive or a couple of days beforehand if you know what you want. On saying that, you could quite easily occupy your time in the thermal suite and rest rooms without ever having treatments. There are lovely walks around the grounds and if feeling a little more adventurous you could go horseriding!
Food is very good both in the bar and the restaurant. Again, be sure to book in advance. The cocktails are also worth trying out. Re: whoop whoop - Booked Monart
All the treatments are fab!I loved the reflexology because after she was finished she told me all my worries as she touched each of my toes!

Re: whoop whoop - Booked Monart
Hey girls - we have a weekend away booked here coming up shortly. Can I ask those who have been a couple of questions please?
1) Do you need to book into the bar in advance for food - we have the restuarant booked for one of the nights, but I just heard we may need to book the bar for food the other night. Can anyone confirm? 2) I've seen a few mentions of wearing robes to breakfast and lunch. Can someone please tell me what is the norm to wear under the robes - Pjs/swimwear etc - I don't want to ruin my buzz by being uncomfortable because of a apparel 'misunderstanding'. Thanks all. ![]() Re: whoop whoop - Booked Monart
When we were there we wore our robes for breakfast and had our swimming togs underneath because we went straight to the spa after breakfast. I don't think anyone has pj's on but then again you never know!
Not sure about whether you have to book the bar for dinner or not it's fab, we really enjoyed our stay there and the staff were so helpful with food choices for me because of my pregnancy Re: whoop whoop - Booked Monart
Thanks hon, Glad I asked, I don't want to be the weirdo that everyone is looking at iykwim.
![]() Looking forward to it now. Re: whoop whoop - Booked Monart
Oh you are so lucky I just loved the Monart and will hopefully get back soon.
Yes you do need to book the bar for food..it was full when we dined there on a Saturday night and they turned people away..maybe just book a week before or something. We had exactly the same dilemna about the robes and our first morning DH wore pyjama trousers under the robe but to be honest no-one else did so youll be fine just to have your swimwear on. The breakfast is to die for! We also had afternoon tea which was really nice. DH was a bit skeptical of it being a mans man but he actually really enjoyed it too. We did that on our second day and then just got snacks for room service later on..really love the snacks menu by the way, we brought DVDa and just got them to bring us up wine & torillas and dips and it was lovely. The house wine is really reasonably priced. Oh you are going to have such a nice time, enjoy !! ![]() ![]()
Re: whoop whoop - Booked Monart
So jealous!!
DH and I did three nights here last year. 1. you can wear robes all day, everyone does, even while walking the grounds, for lunch, down by the spa etc, we just had swimwear underneath and slippers on our feet! 2. You don't need to book the bar, I would advise booking the restaurant!(food in both is fantastic) 3. Went for the Mud Chamber for two, while it was a bit of fun I probably wouldn't be bothered again. 4. Both the massages and facials were fantastic 5. Manicure & Pedicure were not up to scratch I'm afraid 6. As a recommendation I would seriously advise the afternoon tea, it was amazing and really really worth the money! 7. A bottle of prosecco to the room was really reasonable if the two of you fancy a bubble bath some night! ![]() Enjoy!! You'll have such a great time!! [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]
