Anyone remember the Adrian Kennedy phone in show circa 2005?
Coming off the Ray Darcy thread got me remembering the Adrian Kennedy phone in show (late night) in/around 2005. I used to listen to it from time to time on the bus home after a later day.
People used to ring in (mostly plants I would say) and start a row about anything from 'Why women should be kept at home' to 'I don't like culchies' to anything really just to rile up the audience and get things started. Then people would ring in arguing with one another and it would get quite heated. Remember this? Re: Anyone remember the Adrian Kennedy phone in show circa 2005?
I think he was on another radio as well, in the early 2000's. I knew a girl who used to ring in when she was driving home and just join in with whatever nonsense was being talked about. She got to know the researchers and used to go out drinking with them sometimes too!!

I used to listen to it, I was working & living in Dublin at the time & used to listen to it most nights before going to sleep, it was very funny at times, a bit like the radio version of Jeremy Kyle!! I used to always think how my life was so boring compared to some of the people on it !!

Re: Anyone remember the Adrian Kennedy phone in show circa 2005?
I used to listen to this when I was in uni in Maynooth. They'd have outraegous topics like 'women smoking when pregnant' and have people ringing in almost advocating it. I did think some of it was suss... like some had to be plants. He encouraged a bit of a Jeremy Kyle vibe.
Re: Anyone remember the Adrian Kennedy phone in show circa 2005?
But Adrian has been doing the phone show for years now and its on every night monday-thursday. He does it with Jeremy for the first and last hour of 'get it off your chest' and then Adrian in between hosts the controversial topics.
Re: Anyone remember the Adrian Kennedy phone in show circa 2005?
Sweeping generalisation oncoming:
It was the stable choice radio programme of Dublin taxi drivers when I lived there! Re: Anyone remember the Adrian Kennedy phone in show circa 2005?
I remember when Adrian Kennedy started the show at 104, he was competing directly with Chris Barry who had a similar show on 98FM and then Chris Barry came out, there was a big drop off, he gave it up and then Adrian won the majority shareholding in the shock jock show category.

It's still on. I never listen to it.
*cough* But they're still plants. EDIT: I just realised that I'm using 'plants' as a swear word and OP was using it literally. Oh, the hilarity. ![]()
