France, Italy or Spain for girls weekend??

Hi Wollies, we are planning on going on a girls weekend in June but are not sure yet where to go so would love any suggestions!

one of the girls are afraid of flying so it cant be a long flight. as well as that we dont want a sun only holiday but would like some sightseeing. I was thinking La Rochelle in France or Bordeaux. or maybe Rome. I am not a big fan of spain but if any of you wollies can suggest a good resort I would love to get your opinions.

I'd go to either Madrid or Barcelona for a good girlie weekend away especially Barcelona. I think France can be very expensive and I always see Italy as more of a romantic getaway!

we have been to Barcelona and didnt particularly like it. will have a look at Madrid or Nice though thanks for the replies :xox

Madrid is really great and I would say appeals to most. Great tapas, great wine, great restaurants, loads to see, Prada museum. Didn't think it was too expensive (twas back in celtic tiger times, but from memory anyway!)

Bordeaux is gorgeous and the shopping is amazing! Also lots of vineyards...!

Would definitely also recommend Nice- lots to do and the beach if you want it.

How about Marbella?

If you go to Marbella old town it's nice and quiet and there's Orange Sqaure etc there for a bit of the touristy type thing. There's a big shopping centre there too - think it's called Corte Ingles or something like that. Then if you wanted a total dress up girls night out you could go to Puerto Banus for the night.
