What to wear to christening?

It's on quite early and I'm not sure whether jeans, white top and blazer would be better than a dress? Kinda hard to know. Don't want to be ott but wouldn't like to be underdressed. What's the norm to wear to christenings these days? Dress/jeans&top?

Personally I wouldn't wear jeans to a Christening but that's me.

Is it a group christening where a few babies are being baptised or a private one with just the one baby ? Do you have a role in the Christening ?

I wouldn't wear jeans to a christening, I think it's a bit too casual. I'd be more likely to wear a dress (if it's very early, maybe dressed down with flats) or else a pair of linen trousers and a nice top?

No i wouldnt wear jeans to a christening. I think its too casual.. I have a christening in a few weeks and Im wearing a blue dress with black tights and heels. I also have no role.. Any excuse to get dressed up

Hi,I would say no to blue or black jeans but yes to white or coloured jeans as they can look quite dressy. I would recommend a maxi dress & blazer, its not too dressy & you dont have to worry about heels & tan, etc & you wont feel too dressed up as its early.

Went with the dress in the end, there were a few in skinny jeans in tops& blazer jackets, was happy enough to be wearing the dress anyway!
