Help meeeee!! Possibly TMI!

Girls, my hen is tomorrow and I'm only outta the scratcher. I was up all night vomitting. Seems to have calmed down now but still experiencing a bit of movement from the other end (sorry!). Don't feel sick anymore, just run down, weak and headachy. Need some advice on best way to get back on my feet for tomorrow. Have yet to eat anything since yesterday afternoon but H2B will be home shortly with bread and jam for some dry toast.

HELP!! Starting to panic!

Rest, drink as much clear fluid as you can and avoid dairy for the next few days. If you still have diarrhoea tomorrow you could take some Immodium to get you through the hen, but remember these bugs are usually contagious so be really careful about handwashing etc. when you're with others. Hopefully it'll be a 24-hour thing and you'll be fine tomorrow - at least the vomiting has stopped, I always find that's the worst part. Good luck!

Thanks Flower Girl. Am resting up today (despite being totally unorganised for the hen), but think it's more important that I'm rested and feeling better.

Try Immodium aswell as light foods and water. Immodium works for me everytime. Hope you feel better soon

You should ask you oh to pick up some dicorlyte (sp) for you on his way home to help dehydrate you and replace any electrolytes you may have lost while you were sick. They're brilliant and might just help you feel a little better.

+1 on Dioralyte - replaces all the fluids you lose after vomiting and diahorrea

You poor thing - fingers crossed you'll be back to your best for tomorrow.
Just wanted to add - Lucozade Sport is another thing that's very good to rehydrate especially if you can't get your hands on dioralyte (sp?!) Failing that - a spoon of salt in lightly diluted orange.

Girls I'm feeling 100 times better. Had 3 pieces of toast and am looking for dinner now! Need a good night's sleep and I should be right as rain!

How did you get on with your hen? Were you ok to drink or did you still have the runs?

Nope, no runs! Hen was great thanks. I still wasn't eating an awful lot so couldn't really enjoy the meal but had one or two fizzys! ;o)
