Shame on the catholic church and cardinal Brady
SORRY this is a bit of a rant but please read if you haven't been following the story in the media
Just sat down to watch that programme "The shame of the Catholic Church" on my sky box that's been in the media all week. Im just flabbergasted by the catholic church and how after all this time and with all the reports of abuse it STILL refuses to step up and take responsibility for the actions of it members. For anyone who hasn't been following the story the programme covers a report made by a then 13 year old boy in 1975 about how he was abused over a number of years by a priest (who thankfully is now locked up). The then 34 year old teacher an priest who compiled the report was the now caridanal Brady. Brady passed the report onto his superiors and this is where the action stopped. Now i know this is not Brady's fault, he did what he was supposed to do in that sense...BUT...when he realised nothing further had been done, and were talking about the rape and sexual assult of 9 year old boys here, he did not question it, he did not follow up himself to find out why nothing was being done, he did not question anyone or contact anyone involved in the report to find out what had or could be done. He did NOTHING! He in effect, enabled the abuser of the children named by the boy as fellow victims, to be continually abused for the next 7 YEARS!!!!!! Cardinal Brady is refusing to resign from his position. He claims he mearly took notes at a meeting in which he, the boy and just 2 other priests we're present. However on the statement from the meeting Brady has signed his name as overseer of the meeting. I think it's wrong, I think it is disgraceful and i think it is yet another example of the church being more concerned with their reputation than the well being of innocent children who were let be abused over and over for years becasue some priest didnt think it was his place to speak up about it. That is shocking Anne Cordelia Shirley
Where the hell does that guy get off saying Brady is a GOOD priest! I'm sure he's done lots of good things over the years and maybe he is a decent man BUT, In my opinion by today and any other days standards he was NOT a good priest the day he handed his report over and then forgot all about the young boys who were raped by one of his "fellow brothers"!!! Surely if the man had any decency he would accept his mistake, he would step down from his position in the church regardless what the vatican have requested him to do, forgetting who he is for a second, this man KNEW what happened, he KNEW that animal was still raping these kids on a weekly basis, bringing them off on car trips around the country so he could scare and scar the living sugar out of them.......and did NOTHING!!!!! It's DISGRACEFUL!!! [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/wcfwKl0/]

Turning a blind eye to the raping of kids is not a " man of god"
Re: Shame on the catholic church and cardinal Brady
he can't step down... it was orders fromthe top down to cover it up. if he does more heads will roll. my bishop was cute enough to get out before the sugar hit the fan, disgraceful.
