New Puppy

So H2B bought me a puppy and I am getting her next Thursday. :o)ll

What food etc should I get and what bedding etc?

Aaw! Congrats! What breed is it? Bítch/dog?

I would recommend Wainwrights (petsathome.co.uk) or James Wellbeloved, though our girl prefers Wainwrights. Though I would get some of the food that the breeder is using (they should give you some anyway) to mix in with your new food as puppies tummy's are sensitive. Just changing their foods can cause an upset stomach and you might think the food doesn't agree with them, but its more the shock to the system of changing! So do it ratios of 80/20, 60/40 etc until you have them completely on the new food.

Get a bed that will fit them when they are fully grown, getting a separate puppy bed means it will need to changed. The bed was a bit big so for the first month or so we put in a washing up dish :o0

Just so she wasn't "lost" in the big bed.

Look at that cute little face! She's gorgeous!!

Also get plenty of chew things so the pup has things to chew on rather than your furniture.

Bazinga, we bought a bed for our guy before we got him and it was the biggest waste of money! He has never slept in it! The spoiled brat sleeps on the couch instead! So we have a nice big bed decorating the kitchen floor! TBH think its a bit too big for him as when he curls up he's lost in it. Prob more suitable for a bigger dog than a cocker. Might sell it or donate it to the local shelter.

Ruby loves her bed, we had the basin in the bed :o0

Though I think she likes it as she currently has a pillow, OHs hoodie and about 23 socks in it - she likes it to be comfy :o0

spoilt madam! She loves socks, is happiest with a sock in her mouth. When she comes into living room, the pillow is dragged in to the front of the fire and lay on

My cousin has a King Charles called Ruby and its such a cute name. She's a real girly dog, when you give her treats she nibbles them from your hand whereas our savage takes hand and all to get the treat!!

Buddy too! He's obsessed with socks. If he's upstairs with us when we are getting dressed he'll try and take the socks from us as we're putting them on! And he goes straight for the wash basket to see how many socks he can find every single time hes in our room! Might try and put an old jumper or something in his bed to see if he'd use it more but doubt it. He's on the couch now head on my knee fast asleep.

he doesnt bother with clean ones tho.. only the ones I drop on the way to put the wash on.. Always find them chewed and slabbered in the some corner AFTER I put the washing machine on O:|
