Recommendation – Holistic Pet Products

Hey girls,
I know I posted before about my dog being sick before Christmas but there were still some issues in February such as dull coat/excessive shedding/eating faeces/bad breath/excessive sneezing. Anyways someone told me to contact Holistic Pet Products http://hpp.ie/index.php. I sent a big long email to HPP on a Friday night at about 9pm with all the details of her illness and any outstanding issues. Kevin replied to me within half an hour with even more questions! I had said that I would buy new food or supplements, whatever it took. So he recommended 3 different types of supplements but not new food. Also until he said it, I didn’t think the eating faeces and bad breath were related to her illness.

So we ordered the supplements on the Friday night and had them early on the Tuesday which was brilliant as I was anxious to start them asap.

So at this stage, two of the supplements have been fully used up and we still have some left in the last one and there is a huge improvement. Back to hoovering twice a week rather than once or twice a day. She seems to have stopped trying to eat her own faeces in the last few days, breath is back to normal doggie breath and she is definitely shinier! I had brought her back to the vet for the sneezing and he couldn’t find anything wrong but its sorted now anyways! She is still quite skinny but she is very fit aswell. Her energy levels are gone through the roof, can’t keep her exercised!

Kevin has also been in contact since to see how she is getting on. I appreciated that he didn’t tell us to buy some of his food in addition to the supplements when we would probably have bought anything to get her better so at least he wasn’t trying to sell for the sake of it!! They sell all sorts of accessories/food/treats aswell as supplements for both cats and dogs. Anyways I just said I would let ye know in case it comes in handy for anyone else.

I feed my cocker Burns... which is hypoallergenic, holistic, complete dry dog food -
have fed it to him for 5 years now (he's 7) and he's in perfect helath (thank god)...

I also feed him a tin of sardnies in oil once per week... mushed up oil and all and his coat is fab...

Yip I do the sardines/eggs etc but it just wasn’t enough in this case. She was poisoned before Christmas (she got a bag of rubbish out of the wheelie bin which had loads of onions in it so we reckon it was that) and got odema and then anemia from the poisoning, was 60/40 as to whether she would make it

I’m feeding premier high 5 from maxizoo. She is doing great on it and I amn’t changing. I have done a lot of research on the best quality food in my price range.

That's a really interesting website Morningsun thanks for that, it's good to have an alternative place to go for advice.

Yip Sara she is a cocker, its probably too dark too see her properly with the mat in the background.

Thanks Trance, it’s definitely better that you can email and ask advice rather than just buying products like other websites like zooplus etc. It’s also a family run Irish company so good to support!

Thats great! You must be relieved to have found something which works.

We bought a DAP diffuser for Buddy and it has calmed him down no end. The silly barking looking for notice isnt nearly as bad, he's not running circles around the place pulling at things. Combined with food change (finally got him off the wet) we have a much quieter dog. He's also calmer when people come to the house which is a good thing. No smell to us but as soon as I plugged it in he was straight over sniffing so he can obviously smell something.
