Brides to be in Abroad?

Hi Ladies,

I’m just putting this out there on the off chance but is there any Brides to be or recent brides who are currently living in Canada. We moved over in January not long after getting engaged and are just starting to look at some wedding plans now. Would be great to get some advice from someone who has gone through organising a wedding in Ireland from abroad or to get in contact with other Brides in similar positions. I’ve no experience of wedding plan what so ever so I’m a total blank canvas at the moment.

I'm living in Toronto! In the same situation as you, organizing a wedding at home from abroad. We were home in May and got the church & venue booked. Then I sent my family/friends to check out bands, and now I'm onto photographers! Will be getting my dress here but have to wait for my mam to come visit me as I don't want to go on my own :-(

How are you getting on?

You have loads done congrats!
We are just trying to get the venue booked now. Decided on late spring 2013 so wasn't in a big hurry til end of the summer.
Hopefully will have it booked in next 2 weeks :-)
How are you finding the organising from over here? We are really lucky to have a close relative helping us out. Such a big help with the time difference etc.
Can't wait to get rolling with everything else aswell!

You'd be surprised how much you can get done via the internet and phone. It's actually grand! I was a bit upset to miss out on going bridesmaid dress shopping with my bridesmaids but the salon they were in were very good and let them take photos to send onto me. Otherwise it's all moving along nicely. Spring 2013 will be lovely, you've enough time to pull it all together. Once you've the date booked everything else starts to fall into place! Are you staying in Canada for good? :thnk
