www.fertilityfriend.com is a website that has sofware that allows you to chart your basal body temprature. it has lots of information regarding fertility, forums, and a chart gallery. You can use the free charting facility or you can buy VIP access, which gives you a little more information, it is good value for money, but the free software is sufficent for tracking your temps.
For linking your chart to this page
go to the FF website and on the menu bar on the side, clink into 'sharing' then 'home page set up' at the top of the page you will find your charting home page web address. Copy and paste this into this thread.
Charting Tips
Basal Body Thermometers can be bought in any chemist, sometimes they are on special offer in aldi/lidl, a thermometer that goes to one decimal place is fine, though it is more accurate if it goes to two places.
BBT must be taken first thing in the morning at the same time, before moving or speaking so try get a thermometer that will read after a couple of seconds, some will hold the reading in its memory so as not to affect your weekend lie in!
Vaginal temping is the most accurate but most people do it orally, if yu chose to change the method you take it, make sure you wait till the start of the next cycle as there is a couple of degrees in the difference when taken vaginally
FF will NOT tell you when you are going to ovulate, it will tell you AFTER you ovulate, the softwear is designed to let you to get to know your cycles, and to be able to roughly predict what your future cycles will be
In order for FF to be most accurate, you should try to put in as much information as possible, cervical mucus, cervix position and saliva ferning all help to determine your correct ovulation date
FF will give you Cross Hairs when they have detected ovulation, this is shown when you have had three temps higher than the previous six. do not worry if it then takes them away again, if the software is not familiar with your cycle, the more info it gets as the days go by it will regulate itself
Remember FF is computer generated, it will learn to 'read' your cycles but as you get to know your own body you will somtimes know FF is a little out in its caluclations, this comes with months of you looking at your own particular patterns
Do not put in temps to try make your chart 'lookl' right, a single temp out of sync will not affect FF intertrepation of your chart, what you are aiming to do is to look for reccurring patterns in your cycle, the more months you chart the more you will familiarize yourself with your own particular pattern
There is a temp adjuster in the menu bar but it is not reccomended to be used often, if you are sure of your cycle it is fine for you to override what FF says
The horizontal line in your CH has no significince at all, occasionally your temp will drop below it, this is not a problem, somtimes around the time of implantation your temp can drop and go back up, this is called an implantation dip, though you will not know if it was an implantation dip untill you get your BFP, as this dip frequently hapens on NON BFP charts also
Occasionally you will get open circles on your chart these are becase FF is not sure if they are accurate temps or not, this happens when you take your temp outside of your usual time, or if yu have not had three hours consecutive sleep
