Dr Waterstone - Lap and Dye

Hi girls,

Just wondering if anyone has had Dr W do a lap and dye? Just wondering what the recovery is like. My main worry is that I'm about 2.5 hrs from the hospital so trip home that eve after General might be kinda crap. Praying for good news girls, any advice would be great.

I had on a few years ago and it went very quickly. The recovery all depends on your reaction to the general. Most people once they wake up, have tea and toast and go to the loo get to go home. I had a bad reaction to the general as it made me sick and couldn't eat or go to the loo I spent the night on a drip but that was just me, I don't react well to anaesthetic.
Also you get a terrible pain in your shoulder from the anaesthetic, it might not kick in until you get home. Plenty of fizzy water is the only thing to get rid of it, you need to burp it out!!!!!

Not recently, I Had been going there for 5 yrs and had IUI last year and we had out son who is now 6 months. I conceived naturally this time, I'm still in total shock and denial :o0 But we are thrilled.

FYI the pain in the shoulder isn't from the anaesthetic it's from the air they blow into your belly during the lap! If you've been sick before from an anaesthetic be sure to say it loud and clear to the anaesthetist for future anaesthetics as there are things they can do to try and prevent it in susceptible patients. Otherwise it's just fingers crossed you don't get the nausea!
