Drinking while TTC ...

Drinking while TTC ...

Postby gointochapel » Thu May 10, 2022 1:29 pm

girls on you ovulation days ( or days leading up to it) i always find that its so hard to get in the mood and myself and DH tend to have a glass or 2 of wine to relax us ... i try to limit my midweek drinking normally but im so worried now that by me having maybe 2 glasses of wine maybe 3 times a week is actually hindering our sucess ! i know from reading up it says that you should no drink or limit your drinking while ttc but its so hard... like it already takes up so much of your life thta if i was to stop drinking as well i jsut dont know how i would cope with it !!! just wondering what everyone else does... :-8 thanks girls ! :wv

Hi gointochapel,

I know the books recommend limiting the drink when TTC but TBH I really don't think that a few glasses of wine a week would make any difference. I actually think that being realxed is more beneficial than being a stressed/anxious tee totaller. But I'm not TTC very long so I'm not really the best person to be giving advice! :-8

Best of luck pet x

thanks madame bijoux ! i know ive been trying to convince myself of the same thing ! the last few months around ovulation i have been really stressed ! and last month i had a bit of a hissy fit and took a fit of tears for about 2 days and that acutally ended up delaying my ovulation by a day and therefore i was a day late with my AF , so i defo think that being destressed and relaxed is definetley the best way to be at ovulation and i cant lie - a glass or two or wine defo helps me relax ! i was just worried that it was affecting my chances... maybe it is but we're only trying 5 months so i guess ill just have to see how it goes ! thanks so much for the reply and best of luck to you too ! x

It will do you no harm at all....God there are druggies on the streets getting pregnant all the time, I dont think a few wee glasses of wine will do any harm at all.
As you can see from my ticker Im ttcing almost 2yrs and it would have felt even longer and more stressful if I had given up the booze O-O

Almighty Creator, hear this fertility prayer and the wishes of my heart.
You know my deep desire for a child -- a little one to love and to hold, to care for, to cherish. Grant that my body may conceive and give birth to a beautiful, healthy baby in Your holy image. Guide me in all my choices so that this conception, my pregnancy and my baby's birth are in line with Your will. Heavenly Father, hear this prayer of my heart, mind and spirit.Amen!

Ah well.... in that case you are definitely right in having a glass of vino to relax yourself. You poor thing. I can understand how frustrating it must be. I'm frustrated just waiting for my period to come so I can start a new cycle!

Are you temping or using OPKs or anything like that?

Best of luck nowmrsb and gointochapel :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust:

A few glasses of wine will do no harm im sure. I dont drink too often but when i do i dont limit myself (thankfully as it would have been a very dry 20 months :o0 ). If it helps you relax and not stress thats good

no i'm not doing anything ! apart from trying to track my EWCM of which i have none really for the last few months, i didnt do temping cause i thought that it would stress us both out completely but next month ill have to try the OPK's ... it'll be 6 months then so i think we should start to be a bit more proactive but hopefully wont come to that if i get lucky this month, also using preseed so i am really crossing everything this month that we get lucky ! but who knows in this TTC game! but i do know that tonight ill have a glass of wine and relax for another DTD session ! DH will be away at weekend now as well which is really bad timing for us so im hoping that the PRe seed will hold in DH's swimmers all weekend !!! :)

You could always so an OPK today to see if you are ovulating? But even if you ovulate at the weekend you should still be covered. I have all my fingers and toes crossed for you !!!! :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust:
