Postnatal Depression Support Group

Postby Mrs Bambi » Sun Jan 18, 2022 9:13 am

Hi girls,

I have just recently been diagnosed with PND and it was a relief to be honest as I thought I was going nuts, I was wondering if people thought it would be a good idea to set up this support group so suffers and non suffers alike could talk openly about it. I know I was very secretive about how I was feeling and it took me a long time to realise and then admit that I had a problem. I find talking about it really helps but I'm still wary of who I talk to about it as many people don't really understand it sometimes I don't !!

Let me know what u think and then maybe we could go to admin to ask could they make this a sticky.

Thanks a million

Bambi xx

Hi there, just wanted to say I think it is a great idea, at least if we all knew what signs to look for etc... it makes it easier talking anonomously then with our friends. So sorry to see your going through this, hopefully it will pass soon xxx

Sorry to her that Bambi but a least you know now what is wrong. Thankfully I didn't get PND. I think a support group would be great, I find the support I get online form Wols is great, somtimes really helps to know there are others going through the exact same thing.

Editied for crazy spelling errors, could barely read the thing :o0

Great idea. Can't think of any reason why not.
I could have done with it, that's for sure. Was the one thing I never admitted to the Wollies until I was nearly better.

Mrs Bambi, I'm so glad you posted this, I've been thinking about doing the same thing for a week now but couldn't work up the courage to do it! Fair play to you.
I was diagnosed two weeks ago and I am finding it tough, it's even been almost harder since. O:|

Hi girls,

great idea, I don't think I got pnd but there have been days where I've cried because I thought I am such a sh1t mother, and I always thought I would be a good one. There was a few days some time ago where I got really sick of my sons name, it was swimming around in my head and I was just sick of hearing it - totally irrational. So yes I think it's a good idea to be open about these things.

Think its a great idea. I think there are varying degrees of PND and even though some of us may not be diagnosed with if there was a support group it would be a good way of raising topics that were getting us down..

I can get in contact with admin for you if you want as I am a registered supplier - send me a pm if you want me to.

Excellent idea Mrs. Bambi! I've had some very low days since becoming a mother myself and often wondered if i had a touch of PND. DD suffered from really bad reflux (which - touch wood- seems to be sorting itself out) and there were days when hours would just drag on and on and it would be constant puking which i found so tough.
Its an excellent idea to keep PND high on the discussion list here as this is such a supportive space where i for one have gotten invaluable support :action32
