Hi all, wondering if any of you who are feeding the comfort milk to los are finding that it doesn't fill lo very long??
We have ds on aptimil comfort and he is taking 5-6 oz every 2.5-3hrs....He won't drink more than the 6oz at a time but he is awake in the 2.5-3 hrs looking for more....is there a level 2 in this comfort milk do any of you know?

No there is no level 2 babsdel, their stomachs are so small at that stage it might be just that that is all he can take! Or he's just a hungry baby! I trying to remember back (you'd swear it was years ago!) but I think my dd was taking about the same but maybe I got 4 hours between feeds. Its supposed to satisfy them longer than the normal one though coz its higher in protein, what weight is he now do you know?

Would have thought 3 hours is v normal for a month old... DS never moved from 3 hours during the day, that's what suited him

O at least I know some los stay at the 3 hr mark then, just thought it seemed like a lot to be drinking.....Last wk he was 11lb 9oz! Couldn't believe it, he is thriving but I suppose when he drinking so much he'd have to be putting on weight :o0

To be honest, it's now recommended that formula feeding parents as well as BFrs try to feed on demand as much as possible in the early days particularly if LO has digestive issues (and I'm assuming your's does because of the comfort formula). The LO's are good at regulating their own intake and if he's stopping then he may well just be telling you he's full. Also if you were BF he'd be drinking at least every 3 hours and more coming up to 6 weeks as there is a growth spurt so he might be trying to replicate that too. HE's still tiny... you'll find he falls into his own pattern eventually but my instinct would be to follow his lead at the moment, particulary if he had problems earlier on.

Thanks for that, in the last few days we have just noticed a small pattern beginning to form, so hopefully its the start of something!
As for his feeding, he seems to be taking the bottles like I said previously and now he is starting to go 6 hrs at night and then feed and go another 3-4 hrs....So I presume he is stocking up on his food in order to go the night. So thanks very much girls for putting my mind at ease.

Just wanted to add also DS at that age fed every 2.5 to 3 hours during the day - this actually lasted until 8 ish weeks but he started stretching at night from 6 weeks on.

Delighted to hear your DS is settling on the comfort and he's starting to stretch at night - great to hear things are improving for him (and for you) :wv

Our 7 week old is on the Aptimal Comfort, he takes 3 1/2 oz every 3 hours and then at the minute every 4 hours at night, he is v content and is now pooing regularly and no constipation TG.
