advice needed: DS wont stop biting, pinching.....

I am at my wits end. My DS will be 3 in September and had been fine for a long time but now the last couple of weeks he has been biting me and OH as well as hiting, pinching and kicking. We can't figure out exactly what is triggering it.

Yes it happens if he doesnt get his own way but he also does it when we are playing and enjoying our time together laughing etc...

Don't get me wrong he is a lovely mannered boy and he is as good as gold (as much as a 2 year can be) 99% of the time.

We just don't know what to do and it is really starting to upset me. I cant let my guard down at all as he has come up behind me so many times to give me a hug then takes a chunk out of my leg!

It has now moved onto bedtime.

He used to be great at his bed time routine the odd time having to go up to check on him, now he gets out of the bed constantly (he has to wear special boots at night so we are afraid of him hurting himself) and last night this went on until 12.15! this can't go on as we are all feeling it physically and emotionally.


What are we to do? Any or all suggestions welcome. O:|

How long has he been wearing the special boots? Would he be upset about having to wear them to bed as it might not be comfortable and therefore be acting out. I know that is a wild guess but u say he is a well mannered boy so maybe ther is a reason for the behaviour?

He w born with talipese so he knows no different he has worn them since a few months old

Sept2012bride that is tough. At almost 3 they say its behaviour. He knows what he is doing so maybe start an award chat for the good behaviour?
Do you currently do time out or naughty step? If not maybe this might be a god option.
As frustrating as it must be I would be very firm but calm about how you respond. Sharp NO you are not allowed bite and either move him to tim out or move away yourself. Its probably just like everything else, he has discovered he can do it and he gets attention for it, I wouldn't worry about it but I would handle it.

hi,

my dh and ds would horseplay alot, dh would throw him around and they wud play hit each other but then i noticed ds was hitting me, his grandparents etc, it was mostly playful but did it when he didnt get his own way aswel, we had 2 cut out the horse play and he is fine again now, also he would react to what he watched on telly, the likes of tom and jerry beatin eachother!!! so i keep an eye on that 2,

i dont know if any of this relates 2 ur case, i hope he settles 4 u
