The floor could be very wet, depending on how busy the pool is.
When we were swimming and DD was under 6 mths,I used to bring her car seat.
I always dressed her first, put the towel on myself when we got out. Then into her carseat so I could get dressed and off we went. Now she just sits waiting for me to get dressed depending on the time I might give a little snack.
I only ever have a rinse in the showers poolside as we leave the pool then DD has a bath that night.I personally found it too much bother to shower and then try to dry off.

In some of the pools they have a family changing area with a changing table this is handy. In one pool I've been in I have even seen a little seat that the babies could be put into whilst the Mum's get dressed.

I always go with two towels for the little lady one that goes over her head and wraps around and the other (hand towel) size to put under her which I can also use to dry.

Must have a look and see if there is a baby changing seat/table. What did u do with the car seat when in pool. It def wouldn't fit in the lockers in my pool!

if it is a public pool and a public session bringing your car seat might not be the best,I have seen people leaving them poolside so they know nobody will take it.
I always left it in the changing room but it was a leisure centre pool and the only people using the changing room were part of the water babies group.

I meant to say too that I always wore clothes that were really handy to get on and I wore my togs to the pool made life much easier.

I didn't go swimming with my LO until she was almost 5 months old. I brought a little seat with me (I have a mamas and papas snug, it's similar to a bumbo seat and it does fit in a locker at my pool) I used to get her dressed first and put her sitting in the snug while I had a very quick shower and got dressed.

I've since stopped (she's nearly 9 months old) bringing her swimming on my own as I find it very tiring (I;m pg again!)

I bring the Bumbo, its easy to transport and fits into the locker. When DD2 is bigger I will just use one of the family changing rooms which has a changing mat and strap her into that while I get changed. I deliberately avoid peak times such as Sunday afternoons etc as its very hard to get the family changing rooms.

I use the car seat. I bring it out to the pool side and have the towel in it so once we're out of pool I take off her swimsuit and just put her in carseat wrapped up. I get myself dressed quickly and then baby.

I found the more often i went the easier it got as you get into a routine of it.
Like another poster said i got us togged out before hand, water nappy and swimsuit on DS with tracksuit ( i used to find crocs so handy for him for the pool esp in the summer months), i used to just throw on tracksuit bottoms, vest top and hoodie and flip flops.

also i stopped having thorough showers, just enough to get the chlorine off us both and showered/bathed that evening, i used to find DS so slippery after shower gel and trying to hold him in my arms that it was just easier give a quick rinse.

Bring plenty towels, i used to lay DS down the floor and always have snacks at the ready, a few little toys and dodi!!

Get DD dressed first while you dry off.

oh and if you do tog ds out before hand dont forget to pack a vest for after!!

the car seat on the buggy base. i change dd then myself and ds then wheel her out to the deck. ds is 29 months so he paddles off i get dd and we play together in the pool. i get ds into the baby pool and i dress dd on the deck. the air temp in the pool hall and the pool can only have a 2 degree difference so it is nice and warm. plonk her into the car seat again.

ds will come into the shower with me whilst dd messes in the carseat.

we all go for coffee and cake after wards [brown bread and jam]

dd is 5 months.....
i can dress her on my knee, but when i was a new mammy i used to bring the changing mat and plonk it on the deck. my pool is a small private one, but i would do the same in a public one.

I also use the car seat, bring it to side of pool with a towel, after swim i wrap DD up, throw a towel round myself and get her sorted, then she's in car seat while i get ready. I'd have a shower when i get home.
If you're there with someone else (i go with DH) I'd leave DD with DH in the pool, get out a few minutes early, get myself sorted and then come back out and get DD.
It all sounds a bit hectic but after a couple of times you'll be a pro, enjoy!
Also if you're in Dublin Cheeverstown pool in Templeogue is lovely and warm.
