Annabel Karmel suggests blitzing mince before cooking but I dont bother. I make a "cottage pie" for me LO. Lightly fry chopped onion, carrot and potato add little handful of mince, add hot water to cover and then handful of peas. Sinner for 20 mins and then blitz.Usually makes 2-3 dinners.
Frying to might make it a bit too chewy :wv

Sweet potato and mince sounds yum :)

i've never made 'mince' as such but use it plenty making spag bol or shepards pie etc, you could fry it up along with other veg, a little onion, mushroom, carrot and sweet potatoe add some stock, let it all soften and just puree the lot together.you could try a spag bol, just frying up mince and onion and garlic, add carrot and mushroom and tomatoe (i use small bit of tinned tomatoes, that way you won't have to bother about peeling skin etc) when cooked you can add some cooked spagettian and puree everything together. you were asking about finger foods in another post and i find pieces of sweet potatoe are really good one to start with, cut them into size of nice chunky chips and steam them till they are nice and soft, she will love them. try chicken cassrole too, fry a little chicken and onion, add stock and throw in what ever other veg you have, cook away till its all done and agian puree the lot together.
happy cooking

Hey thanks for the replies. Made it up by frying lightly with just baby stock and put it through the blender. It still had little small pieces of mince. Is this okay? She managed most of the spoonfeeds but gagged on some as well. She does the same with ordinary potatoes! Would this be the small pieces of mince? Do I just perservere and hope she gets used to it?
