Leaking boobs

Hi Ladies,

For those of you BFing, when do your boobs stop leaking? Or do they ever?!?

I'm 4 weeks in, feeding successfully, although seem to have an over supply. Right boob has a mind of its own.. I've just been feeding off the left boob when I felt cold down my right side. Boob leaking like mad.

I think I've gone through 4 boxes of 50 disposable pads. I bought the Avent breast shells during the week so rather than wasting the milk I can catch it and store it for future use. I was just using it and I mustn't have stuck it in my bra properly.

It's really getting me down, constantly soaking through the pads, the shells have to be sterilised before use if I'm going to store the milk, I can't imagine how I'm ever going to get out and about normally without always having pads on, they'll cost me a fortune. I have been out, and fed in public but it's just so annoying. I really feel like giving up, but don't at the same time as it is working as such, LO is getting fed and is thriving.

Sorry for the mini rant. Is there any tricks to curb the leaking?

It should start to settle down soon as your supply is established around 6 weeks. I know how annoying it is and I remember the fuss of trying to feed away from home in the first few weeks last time, though thankfully things settled down more quickly for me this time. Hopefully it will get easier for you soon!

i still leak on the boob that i am not feeding off.
i leak over night

spent a fortune on musring pads. dd is almost 6 months.

Thanks for the responses folks. I'm off to the shops to buy more pads so. Even if it was just at night I could manage that. It's the dripping all over myself at midday that's getting to me!

I have same problem and I was wondering when it would settle. Didn't have this problem with DS.

I leaked for about 6 months went thru thousands of the breast pads. I found the chicco ones the best. The worst was getting ready for bed I'd be dripping everywhere it was a nightmare also having to wear a bra at night. It does settle down and now I don't leak at all.

It does settle down after a while but I wear them all the time while BF just to be sure. You can get reusable washable ones so I have started using them as using the disposable ones all the time does get expensive and fills the bins up pretty fast too!
