What to match with....

Hi all,

I bought a lace lemon dress for an upcoming wedding (I wanted something that I would get a wear out of again) and need some help matching bags and shoes etc

I know navy goes well with lemon but I'm not too keen on that. Gold goes well but it kind of disappears into the outfit.
Would other pastels go with it? Like lilac or something? Do the bag and shoes have to match?

Also, I've bought some coloured skinnies for the first time and am confused about what colours you can wear them with.
Can they be paired up with pastels also?
The colours are blue (not denim but royal blue), wine and purple.
I love the pastel skinnies but they don't look well on my legs!!!

Your help would be much appreciated as I am in fear of looking like an idiot!!

hi grey alien,

regarding your lemon dress, if you wanted to pick a neutral shade i think you couldn't go wrong with white (or maybe off white, depending on what looks best on you), or possibly grey (kind of a mid shade of grey).

if you wanted to go with the colour blocking thing, i think, again, mid range shades would look best (i.e. nothing too pastel or too dark). so something like raspberry pink or aqua. i'm a bit cautious about saying green as it may look a bit too "lemon & lime". this link to a necklace that has the type of colours i'm talking about:

i'm afraid i can't be much help to you on the jeans (but you might get some inspiration from that mywardobe site!)
