Hello

How is everyone today? :thnk

This is just a quick post and if you had 2 minutes to spare I would love your feedback.

I work with Children who have all different types of Special Needs.. they are such little angels.. I am hoping to learn more and improve my knowledge and would love to have my own school ( well thats the dream)....

I wonder could you tell me, do you find there is enough information, support, & advice out there on the Internet. Apart from this Website ( which is brilliant ) do you think it would be beneifical to have a website set up specially for Special Mammies :) .. with advice, support , places to meet, information all of that type of thing. Information on Schooling ... that type of thing.... I would love to know what you all think

I work with kids of all ages, some of which have special needs and yes i think a website for the parents would be a great idea.. i think the books, websites info is great but sometimes mammy knows best.... little tips and supports between parents would be great.

DD has Down Syndrome and I often feel we are lucky as it is such a well known syndrome with lots of support already in place. There are two websites both with chat forums (albeit often quiet ones). I wonder so other special needs such as ASD have their own sites?

The problem with giving advice re services etc is that it all differs greatly from one area to the next so it is impossible to generalise. E.g. Our DD was assessed and began early interventions already. I know of families a few miles away and so in a different service whose child is one and they have not even been assessed.

As for sharing ideas etc, I do think it's great. Special Needs is not as active on WOL as other sites - I guess because it is not primarily a parenting site. Have you looked on Rollercoaster and Magicmum?
